Everson vs Rau
Has anyone been to the Edina/EP games? And could you tell me if Giles put Everson on Rau?
I can splash in the rink puddles!
Re: Everson vs Rau
Well it's not like they play man-to-man defense. They definitely give Rau some extra attention but he's so fast that he can still make plays.Nostalgic Nerd wrote:Has anyone been to the Edina/EP games? And could you tell me if Giles put Everson on Rau?

I was at two of them.
It did seem like Giles definitely tried to match Everson out there when Rau was there.
They're both really good and both had success against one another. I remember one instance when it was pretty much a 1on1 race at the game @ EP. Rau drew a penalty on Everson and the most impressive part of the play to me wasn't Rau's speed but his strength. Much stronger than people give him credit for.
They're both outstanding players. Everson is so impressive with his calmness. So calm. Seems to never spaz. Very good at turning away from pressure and giving himself time to make a good play.
