How else would the Wahlins show their appreciation for the WBL program and all that has been given to Brandon this year??

Well of course, ship the younger kid who played youth hockey at WBL to HM.

Please, never wear that WBL #20 jersey again Mrs. Wahlin, it makes me sick

From what I hear, Jake Wahlin is a great kid, solid student, and a really nice hockey player. I also hear, and seems obvious by his move, he will never play for WBL (perhaps because of Sager). He can play for Woodbury with average talent and face WBL twice a year. Or, he can play at HM with above average talent and maybe face WBL once a year. He would look great in green/black.

Get him to the Bears. Get rid of Sager if need be
From what I hear, its pretty clear that Jake Wahlin will never skate for the Bears.

75% chance Woodbury
25% chance Hill-Murray
Because I haven't seen old man Wahlin this year, it was because they moved out of WBL school district... And yes.. now that the season is officially over...

Old Man Wahlin said directly to me... He will NEVER have Jake play for Sager.

That is really too bad.

No such thing as hometown pride and/or loyalty anymore.

But HM wouldnt know anything about that.

Thank God you're here to sit in judgment and decide what is best for a family and their son.

OK I did that. But after taking the bag off I still found a bunch of people very critical of their own coach who just took their team to the state tournament, calling out a 15 yr old by name, criticizing his parents and preaching about loyalty and what is best for their son.

It isnt up to him, its up to his parents. We all know this.

I would rather call out you for being a waste of oxygen. Did they teach about science at the great HM, or did they teach the world is 5,000 years old?

PPG... From an adult standpoint, Jake is a great kid.. He was always respectful towards me.. a smile on his face and humble. He has a very good friend that he played with thru most of the youth in WBL, who has a chance to be a pretty solid hockey player at H-M in Davis Zarembinski. It's possible, Jake wants to play with Davis again, too.

I would suspect if Jake plays in Woodbury, my guess is he would try and hook up at East Ridge. I think Doug Long is still head coach, isn't he? Long was a former WBL asst, and he would have a chance to get coaching from Wes Walz.

Sager is everyone's scapegoat.

He and everyone else who leaves is doing it for their own personal reasons to have a better chance to win.

Good for them. But lets just stop the farce that is HS hockey, and play for club teams compiling players from everywhere.

Location and towns no longer have any meaning.

If they don't want him to play for Sager, I wouldn't be one to judge... but as soon as someone sends one of their kids to Hill Murray, they're going to be exiled from the White Bear fan community, so good luck reminiscing about "when we beat Hill and went to state..."

And for good reason, unless of course, the family all of the sudden had a big Catholic revelation.

Whatever the case, kids and more importantly kid's parents have zero loyalty or pride. I hope the kid goes to Hill, and struggles.

Who needs enemies when WBL hockey has friends like you.

WBL has just won the conference (the best in the state according to you SEC guys), won the section in two OT thrillers over their archrivals, went to state, played 3 great OT games at state, has a brand new home arena and has a huge community youth program with enough kids to fill 8 squirt and 7 peewee teams. Yet you spend the afternoon declaring the program dead, ripping your coach and some bantam player. And I'm the bad guy?

Let me try and put out the fire..

First off.. it really isn't a secret within the inner circles of WBL if Jake does go to H-M.. So, it wouldn't be a situation where the Wahlin family will get blasted.

However, the Wahlin family moved out of the WBL school district, so Jake is no longer eligible to play for WBL..

And they moved for family reasons.. NOT hockey reasons. Since I have not had direct contact with Old Man Wahlin for confirmation in 9 months, I was told there was a death in the family that prompted the move.. So, let's give the Wahlin family our support, not tearing them down... Old Man Wahlin is a St. Bernard's grad, so a Catholic education has value if they go to H-M..

Would you like to hear what I think about the "Mr Hockey Award"? I bet not

Why do we do that, why do we have a homecoming King or Prom Queen. Embarrassing.
Oh Yeah--the old PC. Can't have someone "out shine" someone else! Give them all a crown!! Don't want to hurt little Billy's feelings that he didn't win---please......... some people win, some don't. Such is life--get over it and move on!! :-({|=

Great season Bears!

You did a lot this year, and should be proud

Congrats to BRANDON Wahlin for making the all-tourney team.
You were a blast to watch the last 3 years.

GL to birki and Wahlin in whatever hockey route they decide to pursue.
