Roseau won the 9th District with a 7-1, penalty filled game. They will represent the 9th district in Moorhead, with Moorhead being the second team as the host team.

Click on the link from Ram Hockey (above) and you'll see some more information.

In a nutshell, the state is broken into 9 districts (not to be confused with MH districts). Every VFW sponsored bantam team is eligible to enter their district tournament. Winners go to the VFW state tournament. The host team gets an auto-bid, making 10 teams in total.

To all Veterans: Thank you, not only for your service to your country, but also for your many years of support of Bantam hockey.

Yes, the VFW regions are held the weekend between the MH Regions and MH state tournament. Then the VFW state is held the week following the MH state tournament

Interesting! A preview of next week's state quarterfinals. Have these teams played this year?

Yes, Elk River won 5-3, but it was really early. Looks like both teams have improved this season and should be a good game.

Elk River vs Blaine in Championship tomorrow.

Elks Beat a tough SLP team 2-1 in double OT, and Blaine beat Centennial (not sure of score).

Elk River 5 , Blaine, 1.

Good game. Both teams are pretty close in talent. Blaine's #5 got injured but should be ok for the tourney next weekend.
