None of these teams had to get through as hard of a section as Eden Prairie did. The year that they missed it minnetonka came in 2nd, and I can almost guarantee (no way of really knowing but still) would have placed higher than 4th in state.ACTUALFORMERPLAYER wrote:Jefferson Champs 92, 93, and 94
Grand Rapids 3rd in 74 Champs in 75 and 76
Edina East 2nd in 77 Champs in 78 and 79
Roseau 2nd in 57 Champs in 58 and 59
Looks like some kids won more hardware than these guys. Maybe we could stick with best this year?
Not to mention the incredible amount of parity we've had in the past few years that didn't really exist back in the 50's-80's. So many good teams are out there that could beat anyone on any given night, back then there were just a few powers and everyone else.Hockeydad1893 wrote:None of these teams had to get through as hard of a section as Eden Prairie did. Destined to be a weird thread then. The first post says the Edina kids didn't win anything, but you know they won a state title in PW and Bantams.HawkeyPower wrote:I believe the thread is asking about a group of kids that won State from Peewees, Bantams and Varsity. People keep posting Varsity accomplishments and nothing from Peewees and Bantams.
Regardless, great run for the kids from Eden Prairie.
Be kind. Rewind.
The burnsville group from the mid 80's has to be considered one of the best ever. The majority of their success came from the class of 86 who won it in 85, and 86. The majority of them played football too and won a prep bowl in the fall of 84 and finished runner up to Stillwater in the prep bowl in the fall of 85. The Braves were pretty damn close to a 3 peat in hockey too as they lost the state championship in 87 to Bloomington Kennedy. They had a great run from 82-87, believe they were 3rd in 82, they lost state championship to Hill Murray in 83 and lost consolation in 84. Tom Oseicki was a legendary coach and Dick Hanson was an incredible football coach as well.

Very impressive, you know you could have taken the Jags of 92,93,94 and been declared a winner.Sats81 wrote:The burnsville group from the mid 80's has to be considered one of the best ever.
