If he chose PK Ohandley as his preferred destination in the USHL...hes not to bright.keepyourheadup wrote:Justin has not made a decision where next year is concerned. I fail to understand your logic flatontheice.
As mentioned by keepyourheadup, the choice was waterloo so that he could remain closer to home, both to his liking and his parents liking if I were to guess.
Also, you insinuate that PK Ohandley does something to hold back players, or maybe because Waterloo is bad this year I am not really sure.
Well it can't be that he holds players back, I mean Joe Pavelski, Craig Smith (Wisconisn), JT Brown (UMD), Tyler Barnes (Wisconsin), Chris Student to name a few have had some success all played for Waterloo...
Please elaborate on Kloos's apparent lack of intelligence?

I was going to try to write an eloquent response showing you the error of your ways calling a highly talented, straight "A" student "not to bright" (although most people with an understanding of the English language would have said "not too bright"). I've decided to go another route.flatontheice wrote:If he chose PK Ohandley as his preferred destination in the USHL...hes not to bright.keepyourheadup wrote:Justin has not made a decision where next year is concerned. what if the team plays during the week?
and Waterloo cut someone to pick up a HS player?
Im sure Kloos is good enough to play USHL, but Im just wondering how this whole finish the season thing works?
As long as he gets his 10 games in, he'll have a spot on their roster next season. So, he can probably skip a game or two and still qualify. Or, he'll be doing a lot of driving.
Yes, somebody probably got cut and Kloos is probably better than him.
Explain this comment. What does this mean?As long as he gets his 10 games in, he'll have a spot on their roster next season.
If they want him, and draft him in May, what difference does 10 games make? Seems like they extended some sort of tryout invitation, want to take a peek, and will still have to draft him won't they? And, none of the spots are guaranteed. If they draft, trade, find, players better than him he may not have a spot on the roster next year. Not saying that is likely, just possible.
My understanding of USHL rules (which is limited, I grant you), is that you can "pick up" a previously undrafted/unaffiliated player and put them on your roster. If that player plays 10 games for your team, he becomes your "property". I think from Waterloo's standpoint, since Kloos has not yet been drafted, if they can get him to play 10 games for them, he'll be their "property" and they won't have to consume a draft choice to select him, if he were available in the upcoming USHL draft. From what I've heard, Kloos would (if not previously "acquired", for lack of a better word as mentioned above) be a very high, if not #1 overall pick. So, if Waterloo can get him to play in 10 games this year, they could pick up a quality player without having to consume a draft pick for him.observer wrote:Explain this comment. Correct. Brodzinski is doing the same thing with Fargo. In fact, for Jonny to get his ten games in with Fargo, he needed to play the night after his overtime state tournament consolation loss. That's got to be a REALLY long day.Neuuman wrote:My understanding of USHL rules (which is limited, I grant you), is that you can "pick up" a previously undrafted/unaffiliated player and put them on your roster. My understanding also - and the benefit for Justin is, he isn't drafted by some USHL team far from home, like Ohio or Michigan.Neuuman wrote:My understanding of USHL rules (which is limited, I grant you), is that you can "pick up" a previously undrafted/unaffiliated player and put them on your roster.
