So, my wife and son were flying today for spring break. My kid is wearing his Edina jacket and hat. A family from OMG is sitting behind them on their first leg into Detroit. Turns out a kid in this family plays for the OMG PWA team. My kid mentions a couple of his friends play for the Edina PWA who won State. The dad of the OMG family says "yeah we know, we were really hoping Farmington would beat them. Edina cheats." The PWA kid shows he has learned well from his dad by giving my kid the finger with no provocation. Later the kid sees my kid in the men's room and flips him off again.

Re: Attitude
I REALLY hope this us some sort of a joke. For one, if this was true, what's the purpose of posting it on here? You say your on a plane going to spring break. Who cares what some omg family thinks of you anyways. Not to mention what are the odds a kid is just gonna flip your boy the bird on a plane. Why run to a computer and make some general statement about a kid on a plane with a bad dad and a terrible community who .....C-dad wrote:So, my wife and son were flying today for spring break.
OK, OK, I stand corrected. I'll edit my post. I didn't "run" to a computer. I never said I was on a plane. I'm sitting here on the laptop watching NCAA hockey, trying to do the work that kept me from going on break. I just talked to the wife and kid after they got to their destination.
To cheap to get a direct flight or was Detroit the final destination for spring break? Just kidding, sorry the dude flipped off your wife

Edina cheats? I'd say the same about OMG. At least Edina can win a championship without having to co-op with another community large enough to have their own program.C-dad wrote:So, my wife and son were flying today for spring break. I don't like Edina as much as the next guy, but I'm not going to be a moron and say they "cheat" to gain success.
Love the OMGHA hate.
People can do their own research viewing old Meeting Minutes from the Associations in question but.......Osseo came to BPYHA (now North Metro) over three years ago to merge due to seriously declining numbers. Against some pretty sage advice, BPYHA turned them down. Osseo had to do something so they went with Maple Grove to keep it within school District 279.
Fast forward to now....NMYHA is almost done and gone with barely 200 kids left in the Association. Nobody stays.....most open enroll to Osseo after Bantams. Osseo varsity hockey this past season had a third of the skaters from North Metro. Meanwhile, North Metro varsity struggled to a four win season with none against a Class AA team.
Osseo did what it had to at the time to survive (for some real fun look at how many Osseo kids are on any of the A teams at OMGHA).
Funny looking back how BPYHA dismissed the notion of joining with Osseo and how it's come back to haunt them.

I'll rescind my comment about OMG cheating. It may be a bit harsh. The point is that it's utterly stupid to say that Edina cheats. And I'll echo my original caveat that I don't like the hornets one bit.VicKevlar wrote:Love the OMGHA hate.![]()

Re: Attitude
Even if it was true how is that any better than the Edina mom who in the stands turned around after they lost to us earlier this year in WBL tournament and said, "At least we live better lives than you'" or any better than the Edina Dad who said "OMG is white trash," at the State Championship? Those who live in glass houses.... Every city has them....C-dad wrote:So, my wife and son were flying today for spring break. My kid is wearing his Edina jacket and hat.
