Simply not true. In 2009 Tonka was ranked 12th, In 2010 they were ranked 9th. Woodbury has been at the top for 4 years with Mounds View and Edina right behind them. Alot of private schools are not in the rankings but SPA and Blake are in the top national groups with average ACT scores of 29 in 2010.blueblood wrote:Tonka has consistently been ranked the #1 or #2 academic High School in the State of MN for the past seveal years based on ACT scores, SAT scores, and MCA's and several other criteria.
HF may be a good school, but your argument is flawed. Tonka has top academics in the State at a fraction of the cost....

The word "recruit" has many meanings and variations. I've asked more times that I can count on my fingers what "illegal recruiting" is and never get a straight response.breakout wrote:Interesting the word "recruit" comes up several times within this topic. Are there not rules against recruiting???
Also, one player does not make a team. No matter how special he is.
I would be surprised if a local AA team would sign up to play HF. I think the word "recruit" will come to local AA Head Coaches minds and will likely be a road block.
For example, having an ice arena on campus when your home school does not is something that "recruits" players to your school, a representative from a school saying "here is $x,000, come play for our school" is illegal recruiting. Where the line is, I really don't know.
Can a coach answer the question "were I enrolled at your school next year, what team do you think my talents would best fit on?" I don't know that either.

Time to reel in the Bo that don't know Jack...I find it interesting that an individual so interested in the STA administration and follows youth hockey like a dog chasing its tail...very interesting. Without knowing the good people of STA I will acknowledge two points, congrats on your A state championship and for allowing your children the opportunity to represent possible military involvement towards the "good old United States of America". You provide the ability for the youth of America to understand that although we have to listen to people like MrBoDangles, we also need to respect many different opinions. Don’t play too much attention to Bodangs. He is like my dog who is a bit one track minded and he just wants to chase that ball (private schools). His favorite is the blue one (STA), yet is easily fooled with any kind of throwing action (HF), even if the blue ball isn’t in your hand. Eventually he will get distracted and he will go away, probably chasing another ballUgottobekiddingme wrote:Time to reel in the Bo that don't know Jack...I find it interesting that an individual so interested in the STA administration and follows youth hockey like a dog chasing its tail...very interesting. Sorry to bring in STA, but this one needed to be answered being that it came from a known STA guy. An answer could clear some speculation..High Flyer wrote:In 3 years, they will be in the AA sections finalsbrandy38 wrote:We'll see how your attitude changes once they get really good. And what question about Holy Family is it that you need me to answer??? You can read and count, can't you? Let me repeat my previous post: "In 3 years they (HF) will be in the AA section finals and in 4 years the AA state tournament".MrBoDangles wrote:Sorry to bring in STA, but this one needed to be answered being that it came from a known STA guy. Bodangs, that seems to be pretty clear for most readers on the forum to understand, though I do understand how we should cut you a little slack, seeing that you didn't make it past the 4th grade....
