Dundore has served as assistant director of operations of the Minnesota section of Reebok Nationals AAA Hockey, as the head coach of the Minnesota girls under age 16 and girls under age 14 Reebok Nationals AAA Hockey, as head coach of Minnesota Super Series Hockey (in the Minnesota South girls under age 14 division), as head coach of Burnsville under age 12 A girls hockey, as head coach at several age levels of Minnesota Junior Stars AAA Hockey, and as head coach for Minnesota Selects Hockey (Minnesota South Girls under age 12 division).

Twelve of Dundore's former players went on to play Division I hockey in college and another 20 played in Division III.

“In my eyes, my true success can be seen more in the numbers of past players who have made it a point to keep me aware of their continued achievements, both on and off the ice, after they have departed my teams,” Dundore said. “They are aware that achieving a goal as a team is every bit as exciting and important as growing one’s individual statistics.”

AHA Principal Heidi Foley said, “We’re very excited to have Jon join AHA. He knows coaching and coaching female athletes. Jon’s intense focus on skill development, on and off the ice, will help us grow our girls hockey team and its success.”

Dundore attended Central Methodist University and the University of Missouri in Columbia and is the owner and president of LTS Leaderboard of the Twin Cities, a company which focuses on consulting for golf tournaments and other fund raising events. He lives in Burnsville.

AHA had an opportunity to establish a "Shattuck North" yes, for girls and boys. Just by adding a 13th grade so Metro players could stay home and play instead of leaving home. they chose not! BuUMMER for Minnesota girls who need another year of seasoning.

This coach wanted to make a post graduate team, with AHA as the base for the kids to go to school and then a place to play after high school. SSM girls are the same age as MN. High School girls.

Still not sure I understand, and if you look at the history of the school/program even in the years when it was good really only had a handful of kids per class. It seems like it would be tough to build a post-grad team on those numbers. In addition, if I'm paying that much for my kid to go to HS, I expect that they will go to college when they graduate, not hang out for a year and play post-grad women's hockey. I'd say the coach would be wise to try to build a competitive HS team first.

Post grad progam is a good concept that has a place in MN, it is done with the MN Crunch up in Grand Rapids and many prep schools out East and in Canada for girls.

Kendall Coyne from Chicago and one of the top '92 players just did a prep year out east and will play at Northeastern next year. For some kids and famalies who can afford it this might be an excellent approach - do college prep (get that grade point up for the school you want to go to), another year of top competition and ability to mature/get stronger.

I wasn't saying whether Post Grad was or wasn't a good program, just not understanding how it relates to the AHA hire. I think that school does pretty well preparing their kids for college, and most don't leave there needing another year to get their grades up. Maybe this needs it's own topic, as I feel we have gotten far off topic, so back on track we go:

That one is a bit of a surprise, but it makes 9 so far this year. Which is down a little from this time last year when we had 13.

Congrats to EastRidge! you get Edina's finest coach and former player. All he does is get his Edina 14A teams to the State tournament every year in the States toughest section. The kids love him but bad refs fear him. Just get the call right! His European style systems are perfect for girls. East Ridge girls will be going to State soon.

I was wondering how long it would take for someone to shoot down the rosey picture BeenAround painted. A couple of diffrerent opinions there.

Let me get this right. CN can coach girls U10,12 and 14's but can't be a HS coach? The Edina Varsity girls have finished runner up 2 years in a row . Edina Varsity had never been to the state tournament until his girls got into the HS program. He coached all those girls at one time or another. His current 14A's this year did well again (3rd at State/last year Champs) . It sounds like you have a personal vendetta against him. He has been at Edina for 6 years as either a 12A assistant or 14A head coach. Funny, Edina keeps having him back. He just kept sticking up for the lower profile kids who were on the wrong end of the political spectrum(status). No one will move the SPA program forward. Actually, its impossible.

Yeah, he should get all the credit. The fact that Edina has 4 times as many girls in its youth program as the next largest Association has nothing to do with it. And Slomo is a real hack at the HS program I suppose....

I don't know him, or the work he has done in Edina. I do know several schools, he has applied at over the past couple years, that have gone a different direction. I'm not sure how he will do at ER, but I know I trust the decision making of the schools I know that past on him more than I trust the decision making of a school that hired a coach who was fired from the last 5 coaching jobs he held, and then let him go after one year. I would say ER made a questionable call last year, and the admin there will need to prove they know how to hire a capable girls HS coach.

Lot's of bitterness around Edina about CN. Certain cliques have never liked him and they're precious daughters didn't like being told that thier not as good as they think they are. Only certain insiders should be allowed to coach this uber-talented group of girls - and CN is the one who gets viewed as "arrogant." Please.

Spent 2 years in Edina. great place to coach and good for resume. the girls took me to the State tournament.
