2002 AAA Teams
Any news about the newest crop of AAA teams? Same old same old or are there some promising "other" programs?

The Blades looked ok at the Meltdown. They ended up 2nd for the tournament, but the championship could have easily gone their way. Synergy was probably the 3rd best team but got manhandled twice by the eventual champions the WI Flyers. The other local team the Bauer Vapor got worked over pretty well by the Blades and Synergy, but did crush the weakest team in the tournament.

Looking at the 02 draw in the Stars and Stripes the one pool looks to have proven teams in it and the other pool seems to have some no name teams...at least to me.
Pool 1
Machine
Parkwest Predators (no clue)
Yorkton AAA (only Yorkton I can find is a town in Saskatchewan Canada)
LA JR Kings (obviously a known organization)
Pool 2
Bauer Selects (top end)
St Louis Elite (was a competitor last year in the S + S)
Manitoba 2K2 Warriors (won S+S last year)
Magicians (known organization, not sure on ability)
May not see the top 4 teams in the medal round with the pools like this. Makes you wonder how teams get in the Elite division when they is an Open division that they may be better suited too. Unless they have qualified themselves to the organizers.

You know what they say about assumptions....mnhockey2019 wrote:HD41 -- do you have a son on a 2002 team? Assume so, since you created the topic, and based on the teams in the Meltdown, not much reason to go watch unless you had someone playing in it

I have a 2000 kid and I had a chance to check out the 2002's because we didn't want to run back home between games. I don't have a 2002 kid.
