It is their better of the two teams playing this weekend. They will do well, but I don't see them beating Lake Superior Stars. That would be my pick for the 00 Invite for sure.

I believe the coach's last name is Menne...I'm not familiar with that area as far as high school coaches go.

The only tournament that I know LSS played in was the Warrior Cup in April. They beat the Edge in the championship.

Thunder-Is that the team you guys had in Duluth last year. That was a well coached hard hitting Pee-wee team. Good this week-end.

No. Different group. A couple of those kids. Actually this team is made up largely of kids from the district. Fewer than half from Thunder Bay. They will be big and VERY physical.

My kids not with this team. Chose to stay with the team from last year. We will be back to Duluth in a few weeks.

Can we get some scores and game summaries?

I never mind the added sideline stories, and other various surprises, either.

02 MN Legacy 10+
02 Predators 1

02 Synergy 7
02 Vapor 0

The Synergy/Vapor game was a better game than the score might indicate. Vapor had several decent opportunities to score. The Vapor goalie played very well too. He saw a ton of shots and made some great saves.

The Predators/MLH game was not as competitive. The first shift out looked like the Predators were going to be dominant, but it was all pretty much downhill from there for them. They didn't give up though and I talked to a kid after the game and he really had fun so it's all good.

98 MSC played first 6 min w/ no goalie from what I here. I was not there just talked to someone who was. Sounds like they will be tough.

You are correct

2000 ste 2
Machine black 2

ste robbed of a goal. Black brought in 3 of the orange. STE did a good job of keeping up with them, we didn't have as many shots on them as we did in duluth, when they had a smaller roster....

02 Machine 4
02 Synergy 2

Good game. It was 4-0 into the 3rd period then Synergy scored 2 quick ones to make it a little closer. Both teams skated hard and played pretty well. A couple of bounces one way or the other this could have went either way.

My friend texted me that the 02 Legacy put up a fight but eventually got rolled by the 02 Blades 8-2.

A machine dad I talked to at the game said that they beat the LSS team 6-3 earlier in the day. Said it was a good game and at one point it was tied 3-3.

PROPS

Post by knights58 »

My props to you hockey dad...you called it. 2002 Synergy beat the 2002 Blades 4-3. Blades dominated puck possesion and territory, but synergy scored on a fluke goal and three break away/odd man rushes. I've got to give Synergy credit, they worked their tails off and played a heck of a game. Another tough lesson learned by the young Blades....It's not always the most talented team that wins.....
