Looks like the Batallion won 5-4...it was 4-1 when we left, so the Maple Leafs must have had a big comeback!

The Orange Crush claimed the 2010 Mint Cup today by defeating the Manitoba Batallion 4-3 in overtime. The Batallion held a 3-1 lead heading into the third period. The Crush scored two third period girls, including one with just under a minute left in the game...and Rachel Hennessy took a long pass from Alison Peluso with 7 second left in overtime and snuck one by the Batallion goalie. It was a hard fought, physical, end-to-end battle and as the league coordinator said after the game, it was too bad someone had to lose.
Looking forward to 2011!!!

Joe - Yes they will be playing. I know the Orange Crush will NOT be having a team in the league this year.....Also, I am unaware of any Minnesota teams. I hope there are, but I don't have details. Received this email from league:

Excellent - Mike is a great supporter of girls hockey and was an originally founder of the Leauge when his daughter was playing. The St Croix Saints loved the League and had a lot of fun over the three seasons they played. Hope it continues and evolves to meet the needs of girls in MN and MB.

Yeah same here..A few years ago when I heard about the league, I thought - This is just another money making league or something...

But having had my daughter play on the Orange Crush team last couple seasons I was dead wrong. Competition was very good and it was alot of fun...
