New Hope AAA Scrimmage Fest

The MN Jr. North Stars are hosting a scrimmage fest weekend at the New Hope Ice Arena the weekend of July 29-31, 2011. The format will be a 4 team round-robin for each level.

Cost: $675 per team
Format: 4 team round-robin at each level
Levels: U12 (98,99), U14 (96,97), U16/U19 (93-95)
Games: 3 games each, 85 minutes each (actual ice time), resurface every two periods.
Officials: Two certified refs per game; we will have an EMT or trainer on-site during all games.

Seems a little high? $288 per hour of ice time........

How did you come up with that number?

3 x 85 minutes / 60 minutes/hour = 4.25 hours of ice time
$675 / 4.25 hours = $158.82/hour

Is there some conversion I'm missing?

I am really not sure how you came up with $288 per hour, worst case I guess one could say $225 per game, times 3 games is $675, but like "luckyEPDad" said it works out to much less per "hour" of ice time. Please remember we have to pay the officials and the Atlhetic Trainers that will be on-site in the case of an injury.

Compare that to the average AAA tournament 4 games for $1500 or more. With my math that works out to $375 per game (and these games do not have 85 minutes of actual ice time). That $1500 is over twice as much for 1 more game...
