Parents - hard to do, but relax, its not like there are many choices to choose from. Its alot of time and a big commentment to coach some of these teams. appreciate it... Thanks - thats my 2-cents... :)
Good post. Our association went through this. We had a coach when my son was a mite that was a great hockey guy, good with the kids and knew alot. We had alot of success too and everyoen left that season feeling great. MY son went up to squirts, that season not as great, we supported the coach, as did everyone else except two parents. Those two parents were bad apples and ruined the bunch and that coach quit because of it. SOOO, the mite coach we had the year prior said he would like to coach the squirt team, some parent from the current mite team with a stick up their you know what decided they did not like that coach because and I quote "he wants the kids to be too competitive".... yep..... she made it her mission to try and get rid of this coach (of course she was on the board). They called the coach and told him his services were no longer required at any level. This parent's kid was not even going to be a squirt by the way. So the entire squirt team got together, went to a board meeting and defended the coach and it was this whole big dramatic thing. By the end of the meeting the President of the association asked the guy to remain with the assoication and to "please" coach the squirt "A" team (the team my son was to be part of). That team went on to win the state tourney (we have a state tourney for squirts in WI) and was 29-5-2 and were as tight knit as any team could be..... Guess what, problem parent's kid is about to be a squirt and that parent is again railing to get rid of this same coach. Squeaky wheels are constantly getting the grease where instead we should be getting rid of the squeaky wheels and their kids.... ...... sorry for the rambling... hope it made sense

So let me get this straight

Buzzer starts a post complaining about the removal/firing of some or all of the "A" coaches in WB. He goes on to state in a later post that his son after playing 3 years for the high school team; and being very successful, he is still not a fan of the high school coach??????? So the coach chose your son as a Sophomore, took him to the State Tournament as a Senior, won Coach of the Year as selected by his peers, and you take a poke at him while he is showing his support for the cause you a fighting for.....

Can anyone else see the irony here?

Gotta know the history to understand and your kid is probably still in diapers in the hockey world.

Well you have to be somewhat of a goofball to be posting on a youth hockey forum....especially in the summer   But it does suck what the Yahoo has done to the WBL coaches.

Old Goalie...I would have to agree with you on the goofball comment.

I just went back and reviewed all the posts so allow me to recap...The A squirt coach moved on by choice, new coach already installed. Storied and successfull A bantam coach is invited back and will coach this year. A pee wee coach's replaced after one year. Am I missing anything here?

This hardly qualifies anybody for being a Yahoo.

I believe the Peewee coach was in his 8th year of coaching in the asscociation, 1st year as A coach. And who really cares about A Squirts accept hockey dads!

buzzershot aka "Basketball Boy"

Now you're talking jibberish. Who cares about "A" Squirts???? Do you realize that most "A" Squirts are 10 years old - that means they only have 5 years to prepare for Advanced 15's!

Are you sure you're a hockey guy?

And dtp, right now WB is in a little bit of a transition period they don't need you throwing HM jabs in from the sidelines...

Wow....5 years! Half of a 10 year olds life. HOPEFULLY you are not still carring your kids hockey bag, tying his skates and taping his stick at 10 being that you only have five short years to get ready for advanced 15's. And what are you going to say to your 13 year old who is burnt out from playing hockey 12 months out of the year and wants to quit hockey and snow board in the winter instead?
Oh and quess who is the Director of Advanced 15, Coaches the East side advanced 15 team and is the coach of the USA National advanced 15 team representing Minnesota...the A Bantam coach from White Bear that the Yahoo fired... then back pedaled and said sorry I guess you can coach but still fires the A Peewee coach who the A Bantam coach has been grooming to help create continuity between the A Peewee's and A Bantams our association! Also, you get a cookie for figuring out that buzzershot is a basketball term...congrats. And you are calling me goofy. I am not the one who probably committed hockey suicide for my kid...call me goofy but what do you call that guy?

Buzzy apparently I've touched a nerve.

1. The Squirt comment was sarcasm.
2. The East side team is actually the District 2 team.
3. Old Goalie called you Goofy.
4. GROOMING - yeah whatever!

I think I speak for the coaches that were let go when I say "get off our side"...

My kids have been done and through with High School hockey for some time so I have no nerves to strike anymore. It is a good thing you aren't serios about the 5 years to 15's because man get a life if you do think that....I just like to stir the pot......and as far as the coaches go....They think this is just as hilarious as I do because they deal with the nutty parents in person all season long.

Just "heard" that this deal was because of one of Scott's coaches that THE board had problems with. [not interested in talking about type of probs] Board directed said director, to remove coach. Scott had problem w/this. No one in right mind would fire scott!!!! This is only what I heard on the "street".

my experience tells me that the wbl bantam a coach deserved the fate he got. he promoted poor sportsmanship, he put team over development and was all in all a poor example for the kids to learn from. kudos to the board for putting the good of the whole over the promotion of the few.

What does white Bear think about Scott Bond as the new Roseville A Bantam Coach?

I'm thinking Rory O is Fiddles new Peewee coach or in his pocket. Fiddle got embarrassed at the last meeting because he could not explain his actions involving firing coaches who took teams to State and Regions last two year respectfully. As far as Scott Bond, his year as a coach at the Bantam level in WBL was disastrous... not sure the team was even close to 500. Oh and it has been a long hot summer but it's not me who is coo-coo after the last hockey meeting it is clear it is the WBL hockey Assoc Board members that are coo-coo...proven so repeatedly throughout last meeting. Wow!! Depressing for future of WB Hockey.

Just curious, But Why would anyone in WBL care if Scott is coaching in Roseville. If he wants A bantams that spot is already taken in WBL. Plus I do not beleive Scott has any kids that play in the Association anymore? Not sure why this would be a concern?

Buzzer you have to let it go and move on!   It appears your team lost now it's time to buck up little camper and try to make the best of it.

The only thing more pathetic than starting a post on this site that is 90% false (see buzzers original post) is someone who's kids have since moved on from association hockey yet they still attend the Board Meetings! I don't think that is even legal? Now you're attacking the volunteer Board Members - GO AWAY!

A final word of advice to you buzzershot, why don't you facebook Goldfishdude you two are a match made in heaven.....
