99 AAA September Shuffle
The Sept Shuffle seems to be in full swing at the 99 level. This is what I have heard so far.
- The Edge have lost players to both the Machine and the Blades
- The Blades have lost a coach and more than a few players to the
newly formed 99 Icemen.
- The Miracle have lost players to the Blades
- The Nationals have lost players to Miracle, Icemen and the Blades
- The Ice Edge have lost players to the Machine Black.
- Velocity has also lost players to the Blades and Icemen
- Legacy has also lost players to the Blades and Icemen
It is interesting what you hear sitting in the lobby of any given arena. Seems like like the spark that started the flame was that the Blades are splitting up and they are scrambling to have a team. It looks like they are a few good players.
My guess is that the Blades will be down in quality next year and we will have two average AAA teams in the Icemen and the Blades. Again it is just my thought is that they will do well locally but will struggle out of town.
It is a "shuffling of the deck" It will be interesting next spring to see how it all shakes out.

That's just fantastic!MrBoDangles wrote:Pretty much a done deal.snyper12 wrote:MrBoDangles wrote:Sounds like the top three or four 2000 Machine players are switching to the Blades. Heard they wanted to join forces with the kid that came over from the Icemen.
That's a good laugh. Would make ZERO sense.

It's a little ironic that the team everyone loves to hate (The 99 Machine) appears to be the most stable in keeping its team together for the 2012 summer season. If the Blades really do lose some players to other programs the Machine will likely be the dominant MN team at this age group for next year. No surprise, this group seems pretty tight on and off the ice.

"Heard they want to join forces" ??? Where did you get this?
What are you? A 12 year old gossip-girl? Any idiot that types in his post, "I heard..." immediately should be red-flagged and banned from this board.
It is also funny how quickly a thread about 99's, quickly gets hi-jacked to discuss 2000 Machine/Blades rumors. Parents of 11 year old boys can barely contain themselves.
The self-absorbed, by definition, don't even realize how tired these threads have become.
AAA programs have become another object for parents to select, like a luxury automobile or chronograph watch. And when a newer, flashier version comes along...
We wonder why 13-14 year old boys, after puberty, get a little attitude & quit.
Personally, I'm waiting for the year the 99 Machine blows up. Stand around and talk to those parents at the rink. I give it ONE more year. They have that 96 Machine feel about them.
Well, HD41 said, "The grass is always Oranger". Someone will buy.

Re: 99 AAA September Shuffle
You may be right about some of these programs, but I know you're wrong about two.
No doubt there's more shuffling this year in the 99 age group than previous years. Fun to watch, and good to see. The 99 age group is very deep in talent. Once again parents are looking for the perfect fit. Nothing wrong with that.
Orange team is the top dog, and it won't even be close. Great group of kids having fun playing the game they love.

It is interesting the movement at the 99 level. I think Velocity runs a class act, but they may end up being hurt the most due to the shuffle.
I have watched the 99 Machine play seven time this summer. I have to say it is a treat. When I say that I mean the skill level is amazing. The other point that is unique about this team is the size of the players. As a team they are huge compared to the other 99 teams. Two small players. #53 and #8 both of those boys are very skilled and fast. Having a younger player, it sometimes seems impossible that he will reach level of skill.
I just don't see that team ever coming apart. They seem very tight and from what I hear it is a good group of parents.
I have to say I am surprised and disapointed that the 99 Blades are breaking up. It was a good team and was just a couple players short of being a great team. I look forward to seeing what they can pull together for next summer.
I thought that the Nationals were better than expected this past summer but must not have met with the parents expectations. It sound s like they are all looking for something better.

Bottom 3 or 4 maybe not top. I guess time will tell.MrBoDangles wrote:Pretty much a done deal.snyper12 wrote:MrBoDangles wrote:Sounds like the top three or four 2000 Machine players are switching to the Blades. Heard they wanted to join forces with the kid that came over from the Icemen.

Wonder how long you are going to be allowed to keep posting this garbage? Looks like the powers that be sanitized this thread from your earlier post where you called the guy a pedophile. Yet here you are doing it again.MrBoDangles wrote:You call me a 12 year old gossip girl..... Sounds about right. Sometimes this forum prompts some great discussion; sometimes it is simply taxing. That goes for both sides--don't take the bait and let people goad you into a response. Let's all move on.@hockeytweet wrote:It is also funny how quickly a thread about 99's, quickly gets hi-jacked to discuss 2000 Machine/Blades rumors.
