Looks like Edina swept thru the Squirt Velocity tourney this weekend.....beat Eden Prairie 22-11 in championship.

PW's didn't do as well last weekend. Elk River loaded up a team to beat every one.

Congrats Edina looks like they maybe tough to beat again this year. Lots of really good talent on both EP and Edina as the stats board reads the green just too deep!

I believe that loaded up team is there peewee team this winter ... or at least most of them. They are going to be the ones to beat with all the returning players and the no check rule change will only help them. Look out.

All kids on the Velocity roster for ER will play for winter team in ER. They are very solid.

3 on 3 is much different than 5 on 5. Playing on a mini-rink is much different than playing on a full sheet.

I'm sure Elk River has a good PW team. Should be interesting to see how they match up...........

Granted they lost some very good players from last years team but 9 players played on team that made it to state last year so 5-5 should be ok.

No I'm not from Elk River.

Elk River looked very good in the 3 on 3 tournament. It will be interesting to see what happens this winter with some of the teams.

SBD - are you saying that ER had 9 1st year A-peewee's that all played in the state tournament last year? I'm pretty sure no other teams can say that. Most teams would be lucky to return 3 or 4 to their top team. Like I said on a PW post - the Elks will be tough to beat this season in my opinion.

Actually ER returning 8 players from last year 6 skaters and both goalies. Add a move in that was PWA first year (first line caliber) two year squirt A player that plays for machine in summer and you have 10 locks for the team. Not much room for kids who were PWB1's last year or squirt a's moving up...they will have a ton of talent at the top and be very deep!

Yeah I agree that Elk River will be very good this year because they had a lot of talent last year.

We will see if this ER team lives up to the hype. Sounds like state is already spoken for.
