Burnsville PWA Tournament
Any prediction? Not as strong as EP tournament over the same weekend, but should see good teams there.

That is strange! I read the rules on the website so you must have scored a lot of goals in 1 period and lost the other 2, ended with a tie game and then you got the extra point for the shoot out?? Should help with the wildcard chances.old goalie85 wrote:That was a good game . We [fl] beat Blaine in the shoot-out,but, Blaine got more Tourny points!!! never saw that before. Rosemount today.
Are they posting the games for tomorrow on the blazehockey.com site?

The way I read it, the tiebreaker would be total points in the games including shoot out points. Anyway, I saw they posted it and it looks like your in so it worked out.old goalie85 wrote:tHE Tie breaker is goal differential not the shoot out?!!!?

Blaine wins in 2nd round of shootout after 2 overtime periods! Fun game and great action both ends of the rink. Burnsville came back to win over Forest Lake.Mnhockeys wrote:Sunday matchup:
Eastview #1 vs. Blaine (WC)
Bsville #3 vs. FL #2
Championship = Burnsville (#3 seed) vs. Blaine (wildcard)
3rd place game = Eastview (#1 seed) vs. Forest Lake (#2 seed)

Eastview vs. Blaine game is one of the most exciting game to watch. Eastview jumped up with 3:0 lead in the first period, and finished the 1st with the score of 3:1. Eastview maintained a two goal lead (5:3) after two periods, then only saw Blaine tied the game at 5:5 in 3rd with 3 shots on goal from the Bengals.seek & destroy wrote:Blaine wins in 2nd round of shootout after 2 overtime periods! In overtimes, Eastview appeared to have a few good score chances but just could not convert any. Blaine won it in SO with a score of 6:4 after 9 shooters from Blaine side.
Re: Burnsville PWA Tournament
I would say there were two teams that played in the EP tournament that wouldn't have won the Burnsville tournament.Mnhockeys wrote:Any prediction? Not as strong as EP tournament over the same weekend, but should see good teams there.
Question: Should average teams play in all tough tournaments they have no chance on winning or sign up for some easier tournaments during the season?
Reason I ask. Our team is average. We're playing in the EP, Edina, Roseau tournaments with one easier one along the way. We were going to add another easy tournament, but the parents actually said it's not fair to the teams if we come in and beat every one. Please!

Re: Burnsville PWA Tournament
Assuming I agree with your position that only 2 teams in EP would not have won the Burnsville tourney (which I don't because a lot goes into the actual games being played), the answer to your question depends on the district your in. Five of the teams in the EP tourney were from district 6 including the top 3 finishers. Tourneys are meant to supplement the league schedule so if an 'average' team is in district 6 where you are going to play several of the top teams at least twice a year, go ahead and have a tournament where you see other teams and have a better chance to win. However, if your in a league that is not very strong and only has 1 or 2 solid teams, then venture into some tougher tourneys to help your team prepare and see how good the top competition is.Irish wrote:I would say there were two teams that played in the EP tournament that wouldn't have won the Burnsville tournament.Mnhockeys wrote:Any prediction? As far as not being 'fair' to the other teams if you come in and beat everyone by taking on an 'easy' tourney you seem to have a pretty arrogant attitude considering you are an 'average' team.

Hope Frederick watched this game and wrote a piece about it! But he probably was at EP.Mnhockeys wrote:Eastview vs. Blaine game is one of the most exciting game to watch.
