Big Games and Your Predictions - Week 4

Here we go with our 4th weekly "pick em" contest. We again welcome any and all forum readers to give this a try just for fun.

As I was looking through the schedules I became worried that we might not be able to fill out a good schedule of at least 10 "Big Games" this week. But when I got to Saturday it quickly became obvious that this would not be a problem! This does leave us a little "back end loaded", with eight of our fourteen scheduled games not being played until next Saturday the 10th, but it should make for an interesting finish!

So here is our schedule of games for Week 4. Deadline for posting is Tuesday at 6:00PM:

Looking to do an update this morning but once again we seem to be having trouble with the game results. The only confirmed score from last night is Roseau beating East Grand Forks, 4-2. sinbin got this right and, with the bonus point is off to a good start. Everyone else (except one) got one point from this game.

This morning minnesota-scores.net shows Wayzata beating Edina 6-2; however the Hub shows Edina leading 4-2 at 5:49 of the second period. Obviously, both can't be right! And then for the Mounds View/CDH game, no score is being reported at either site, so at 9:30 the next morning we still don't know who won two out of our three games.

I'll check back later and try to give another update, but in the meantime if anyone knows the results of either of these two games feel free to chime in!

I can't find a thing on CDH MV. And, I see MSHSL site has Wayzata winning 6-2 over Edina, but Hub says opposite. MN Scores says same as MSHSL.

Data entry training tips and instructions should be available right on the site. Sounds like a lot of frustration. I prefer last season's simpler interface. My guess is they want the fancy expanded stats for their larger league customers and are testing it on the two MN HS Hubs.

Or, the MN Coaches Association should provide someone to help their members with entry. If there are gliches in the TST/Ngin software then they should provide assistance. The Boys Hub seem to have it a little better but they've been doing it longer and there's often more importance placed on the boys results. More dedicated volunteers.

Forum reader "livin' in the 651" reports that Mounds View beat CDH by a 4-3 score. Assuming that is confirmed, mnhockey3535 will receive the bonus point and take the early lead with 3 points. Only one other (hockeyfan87) predicted a MV victory and, along with sinbin, is tied for 2nd with two points.

The Wayzata/Edina score is still in doubt. Assuming Wayzata did win as reported on both the MSHSL and minnesota-scores.net sites, no points will be awarded as everyone (including KRACH) predicted an Edina win.

It took a while, but it looks like the scores for our first three games have finally been confirmed .

Wayzata 2, Edina 6
Roseau 4, East Grand Forks 2
Mounds View 4, Cretin-Derham Hall 3

mnhockey3535 is our early leader with 4 points, having picked the winners of each of these games while also nailing the Mounds View/CDH score. hockeyfan87 also got all three winners for 3 points, tying sinbin who got two of three games right while also predicting the Roseau/EGF score.

Next up: two games on Thursday and one Friday before closing out the week with eight games on "Super Saturday"!

I have never seen such confusion on the scores of two girls high school hockey games!

In Thursday morning's paper the Strib shows the Mounds View/CDH game to be a 4-4 tie! minnesota-scores.net is still showing a 4-3 Mounds View win. As of now the Hub still has not posted any score for this game. When they do and if it does turn out to be a tie, the point totals shown in my post above will obviously change...

And, in the Wayzata/Edina game, this morning's Strib AND minnesota-scores.net are still showing Wayzata winning 6-2, which per the game sheet shown on the Hub, are both wrong. Too late for the Strib paper, but at some point the score on minnesota-scores.net needs to be reversed to: Edina 6, Wayzata 2.

Also, no effect on this week's contest, but I believe the score for the BSM/Buffalo game is wrong on both sites. According the game sheet on the Hub, BSM scored 10 goals, not 13, so the final score s/b 10-1.

None of this should be this complicated!
