Best arena to watch a game at ?
Re: Brrmidji
When I was a kid, my dad, sister and I would walk over to the BSC (it wasn't BSU then) Fieldhouse to catch Lumberjacks home games. It was only about 6 blocks but it could be a cold walk. It was worth it though to catch a team that went to state three years in a row. I wouldn't mind having to walk six blocks now to catch some good hockey. How old is Nymore and when did they start playing there?

Richfield rink 1
plenty of seats
good temp
large lockerooms

only flaw the lighting isnt the greatest.

Re: Best Arena
Any rink where you can walk around the entire rink. Richfield is great for that, after our new lights come in (next week) the lighting will be better and the rink will be excellant. The ice is in pretty good shape right now, as long as AHA and Richfield boys stay off it for practice.....
________________________________
Academy of Holy Angels
2005 GIRLS STATE CHAMPS!
2002 & 2005 BOYS STATE CHAMPS!!
GO STARS!!

Alexandria's arena is very nice and fun to watch games in. The lighting is great and it has a great hockey atmosphere.

Re: Best Arena
Buffalo's new facility is rather nice. Greenway has a very old and historic arena as well..but in my mind i'd have to say the Evelth Hippodrome is the best. Rich history. Stadium seating. great place for highschool and hockey all around. You can just feel the past when you walk through the doors.

zam...talked to passolt today...he said hands down braemar...the old rink. not a bad seat in the house. plus willard put his blessing on the place.

Re: Best Arena
I went to the Cloquet arena in 2000 and it was a nice arena. Only thing is there isn't much seating on the penalty box side. Also, along the walkway up top there are a lot of blind spots (poor design). I'm surprised they don't have more seating for a school that big. They don't have near the seats Greenway does.

Re: Best Arena
I will agree Braemar is a nice play to watch hockey. I have enjoyed it there for years, plus the tradition that it holds. I have also enjoyed being snake-bitten at Greenway...
________________________________
Academy of Holy Angels
2005 GIRLS STATE CHAMPS!
2002 & 2005 BOYS STATE CHAMPS!!
GO STARS!!

Re: Best Arena
I've been to at least 20 facilities in the metro. My favorites just to watch games are Richfield, St. Louis Park (since renovation) and Braemar.

Richfield has seating all the way around the rink which is pretty cool.

SLP is a lot lighter with the new white paint. I'm talking about the varsity rink not the small East rink.

Best arena
What about BIG? Bloomington rink 1 is a great place to catch a game...im a bias when i say this but it has been the place for section semi-finals for a long time and there are many reasons for that...

Re: Best arena
Indus has a rink that is easily as nice as Baudettes. when I was a kid you used to have to skate from the school to the outdoor rink in Indus that was cool ( cold but cool)

Re: Braemar Arena
The Rec. Center in Rochester is decent. It can get pretty hot and soft on the ice with big crowds, but has an awsome entry way onto the ice and the seating goes right behind the players and penalty boxes. Way to many people get hit with pucks on the visitor side due to low glass and close seats though, OH WELL!

Last year the cross town rivalry came w/jm and century had over 3000 people, "at least that was when they stopped counting at the gates." it was pretty awsome.
