Have you been to many of the MG games this year? Have to tell you that there's no doubt that the NWSC is down compared to years past. Even though the score did not reflect it MG pretty much dominated Centennial through the first two periods. It's too bad they didn't finish off the game like they could/should have.
My point is we really do not know how good the Crimson are. I expect that BSM will be a great barometer as to where this team sits against a really good offensive team like BSM. If Gross and company can minimize their scoring punch then I think this team is the real deal.
Really looking forward to Tuesday night!!!

Shovel, I havent been to any game this year because of my schedule. Im hoping that after the new year things calm down a bit so i can get out and see some NWSC action in person. NWSC is down this year no doubt. I wouldnt sleep on Osseo in a game game setting. after MG, Blaine, Centenial, and Osseo, there is nothing there for section 5 at all. Elks, and Huskies are solid teams too so its not a weak year just not as strong as were used to.Shovel Shot wrote:MGC #1…Maple Grove Crimson#1 wrote:MG and Duluth East face off on January 4th so let it be settled

IMO Andover is a middle of the pack team and as for Elk River their strength over the last few years has been between the pipes. That will continue this year as well. I do think they lack some of the fire power of years past. But as always they find a way to get it done year after year.Maple Grove Crimson#1 wrote:Shovel, I havent been to any game this year because of my schedule. I guess my comments were based more on section 5AA then the NWSC as a whole. I do think that Elk River could be that Blaine team of their section. Always capable of knocking a team off come sections.
7AA reminds me of our sections of the past few years. 3 teams capable of knocking each other out come the sections. With Andover being the Osseo of 7AA.

Well I'm personally routing for Tonka but I'd be very excited to see a shootout. Makes me wonder who each team would pick..MNHockeyFan wrote:Overtime procedures:tonkafan77 wrote:I guess you're right. Im sure for East it would go Randolph-Toninato in no particular order but I am curious...Trevor Olson is still rehabbing his knee and not playing BUT he is dressed and on the bench... Would he get a spot in the shootout figuring he really wouldnt hurt his knee? (which should be almost ready to go anyway)tonkafan77 wrote:.MNHockeyFan wrote:Overtime procedures:tonkafan77 wrote: I guess you're right. Now that would make for an exciting finish!

Minnetonka creamed Edina 6-0 last night!
Their JV team finished undefeated last year, and I'm not so sure anyone is capable of beating this Varsity team the way they are playing right now.
Maple Grove, Duluth East and Moorhead are looking really good, too. But I dunno.. I think this Skippers team is for real!

Unless there is a tie tonight, either Minnetonka or Duluth East will have one loss.Weekend_Warrior wrote:Minnetonka creamed Edina 6-0 last night!
