if your going to the game at MGCC I would suggest going way early. its a small arena. hate for peeps to drive and be turned away. it happened to me with a Maple Grove vs. Osseo game a few years back. at Dick Vraa

then i would accuse them of recruiting haha...but i have to lump my hatred into two categories (public and private)...acutally i shouldn't call it hatred...i don't hate any mn high school team, there are just programs i love to dislike.

i don't hate any privates, in fact i embrace private education, i also like to play with privates...take that however you want haha

Sharp first period from both teams. East had more good chances, but Maple Grove has a strong forecheck and made East's defense (still missing Repensky) look a little shaky at times. MG is well-coached and knows how to take advantages of the opprtunities they're given. Still, if the Hounds maintain their discipline, I like their chances.

Toninato and Randolph had a brilliant first period. I'm still waiting for the East second line to really break out.

East up 3-1 after two.

The first ten minutes of that period were an absolute forechecking clinic by the Hounds. MG did a great job of hanging in there; there was a sense they might have weathered the storm when they got a PP with about 5 minutes to go in the period, but the Hounds killed it and the aforementioned second line scored shortly thereafter.

MG will need to do a better job on the breakout in the third, or East will just cycle them to death.

Trevor on the second line again tonight? Will be interesting to see this on Saturday if Randolph keeps the same line combos. It makes sense, in a way.

He is, yeah. I also think it has potential--Toninato and Randolph didn't drop off much with Lundgren on the wing, and if Olson and Valesano can build a little chemistry, that line could be nearly as dangerous.

They still use Randolph-Toninato-Olson on the power play.

I kind of like it. It adds scoring punch to that 2nd line and Ryan has actually looked good with Dom and Jake. And yea, they still mix together on the power play, which has been quite effective.

Big difference between 1 & 2 in this one. From the flow of play to the men behind the benches. DE will be very hard to beat this year. A lot of teams playing for 2nd.

I have to agree with that. They were the better team tonight and it really wasn't very close. Only way to beat them will be a hot goalie and shutting down their forecheck. Maple grove was bottled up in their own end almost all night.

The final piece of the puzzle for East is getting Repensky back. Hopefully by this weekend, but I haven't had an update in nearly a week.

East is obviously #1...and should be even with a loss or two to a good team with what they've accomplished thus far. After having played, and beaten, both of the teams at #2 and #3 on different lists, who should be #2?
