As fun as an upset would be, I just can't see any way it happens.

5-1 East. Good gauge of how the section will shake down and whether or not East will get challenged in its bid to the tournament.

I think East is going to show us its section opponents don't hold much of a chance. 5-1 Hounds

I'm going to go with the hounds but the officiating is always skeptical up the range so that could be an equalizer.

It might be a bit skeptical on da range during the season, but...... everyone has to play in Duluth to get to the state tourney for what I think is about 20 years in a row now. Rapids 5 Hounds 3 EN clincher with 10 seconds left.
My board name was Howie so had to make a change. ;)

Gotta go with the boys from Duluth and wherever else their from. This is one of their best teams of all time. How many of this group are going to be D1 players? This Rapids team is decent but not as good as I thought they would be. Rapids only hope to win the section is to get whipped in this weeks game and build overconfidence in the East boys for the section tournament. I doubt very much of GR can pull the upset.

How do you know that's not the plan??? This is just a scrimmage to get ready for the big game coming up on another Thursday evening...about 7 weeks from now!

Of course both teams need to have everyone healthy - especially GR - to make it to that game.
It is what it is!

I think she is referring to the 2 goalie transfers. All legal of course.

Is that a joking comment Elliot? You have not seen being homered until you play on the range. I understand though, its hard to have an unbiased opinion when you have three family members officiating the game

I have some funny stories about refs celebrating Rapids goals when playing up there in youth leagues ;) Hard to control the excitement of seeing your grandchild score I guess...but hey, everyone faces homer refs at some point. The best team will usually still win. Not worried about the refs in this game, it should be a good one. Rapids usually steps it up against East and I've seen their playstyle disrupt East's flow too many times. Yea seriously, someone needs to record this and webcast it.

Where did East get those unbiased Refs for Bantam Region a couple years ago? They would be great crew to have officiate this game.

Lundgren spent some time in the Laker program. Not sure who else.

Still, I think everyone on East varsity aside from Skoog played at least some youth hockey in the East program.

Duluth East 6-4. If GR can come out flying like they did in the Lakeville North game and attack the hounds I feel they've got a good chance to spoil DE perfect season thus far.

I'm failing to get the tone of this comment since I'm not sure which game you're referencing :? But if the tone happens to be sarcasm, like I said, everyone plays against biased refs at some point.
