Hermantown vs Duluth East
Does this match-up happen?
I watched Hermantown dominate Grand Rapids last night and wonder what would happen in a Hermantown/DE game? I was very impressed with the play of the Hermanators. Made the Rapids boys look very overmatched. Great speed, puck handling, and redirected a lot of shots as they left the Rapids sticks. They also had an excellent power play and penalty kill. I can see why they are unbeaten.

Maybe someday. I'd rather see East play Hermantown than Superior. Hermantown and East have the best youth programs in the Duluth area and it shows. I've known several guys who played for Hermantown, solid coaching and growth there. And the Hermantown area is growing, so they'll have more kids participating. Things look good for Hermantown.

So this isn't true? Help me out I'm just going on rumors here.east hockey wrote:{sigh}hshockeyfan53 wrote:Word around town is that Randolph declines Hermantown's invite every year because Hermantown beat East the last time they played a while back. Anybody know if this is true and when they last played? Score?

If you want to see the direction of both of these programs are moving,
check out the Hermantown and East PWA and BNA rankings on myhockeyrankings.com.
The Jrs and Srs playing on East today were ranked Top 3 as BNA's.
Not so as BNA this year and expecially look at the PWA level.
East is going somewhere after this year and I don't think it is up so enjoy it now!
Also, check out how well the St. Thomas and Breck Bantam and PeeWee teams are doing.

Hardly. If East chose not to play teams who once beat them way back when, they wouldn't be able to put together a schedule.hshockeyfan53 wrote:So this isn't true? This should have been in the FAQ or Newbie Guide as it's called on USCHO.com.karl(east) wrote:Hardly. I'm impressed with your restraint, by the way. Actually, the way you worded your response is perfect. Considering...well, you know.

That doesn't mean East holds a grudge over Hermantown...blacklung wrote:Hermantown first asked East to play on Hockey day 2 years ago. East said no. Eden Prarie came up instead.blacklung wrote:Yes it is true.hshockeyfan53 wrote: So this isn't true? Help me out I'm just going on rumors here.

Thanks. I have the wording down now after answering this 563 times.east hockey wrote:This should have been in the FAQ or Newbie Guide as it's called on USCHO.com.karl(east) wrote:Hardly. To answer the other question, Hermantown beat East 4-2 near the end of the 98-99 season. East left the LSC the next year and they haven't played since.

Also, since it's the only time Hermantown beat East in school history, it probably means East was embarrassed into not scheduling them. Ever again.karl(east) wrote:Thanks. Imagine if Proctor had ever beat East? Oh, wait.
