All you can drink beer bust
I see Blaine youth hockey is advertising a beer bust at a local beer hall. I wonder what the kids think about that..? Didn't know you could have a beer bust for youth sports. Maybe they should have the kids go out and do something constructive, like volunteer at a food shelf or go to the Feed My Starving Children organization and volunteer some time to package food. What are they thinking up there in Blaine...?

We actually have quite a few Beer Busts for all different youth sports. Its not the Association that puts them on it is the parents / coaches who organize them to help lower costs associated with youth sports and I am all for that. Usually they have $10 all you can drink beer from 7-10 and also have raffles and silent auctions. Usually it is a parents night out thing and kids do not come.

My kid has learned quite a lot from the fine example set by many hockey parents during out of town tournaments. Drinking loses its appeal after seeing X stumbling down the hallway and vomiting in the corner. Especially when you see the horrified embarrassment in the face of X's child.
Keep up the good work!

It's all the Pizza/Pop/Beer you care to have...... It's not a boozin' Eden Prairie weekend trip.luckyEPDad wrote:My kid has learned quite a lot from the fine example set by many hockey parents during out of town tournaments. It's not surprising. I grew up there. My brother's coach one year decided to get extra drunk, climb a tree and break his arm. My brother went through the entire program as a A and we were die-hard hockey/Blaine fans but then I moved away and have been a part of or seen a few different organizations. We even just played Blaine and I was excited to be back at Fogerty in the old rink. However, then the game began and I was embarrassed to admit I was a part of this program for almost 15 years. Sadly, all the parents on the team already knew so when I received questions all I could do was turn red and say "I don't remember acting like that, seems like things have changed..."
So in the end, a beer fundraiser doesn't really surprise me.
P.S. Phil, there's LOTS to do there.

Thats a pretty broad brush to say the whole association is Obnoxious, with having 5 boys in hockey and have played Blaine teams mulitple times and have never heard anything different there then any other arena in Minnesota. Obviously things probably didn't turn out well for your team, maybe thats why there is some distaste for Blaine.

MrBoDangles....You really don't need directions, unless you have no idea where Fogarty Arena is. All you have to do is go in the parking lot between each period at the Blaine High School games and the beer bust is going full tilt at every home gameMrBoDangles wrote:I think you're falling on deaf ears.... Could I get the directions if you have a chance?

Probably used to be able to do the same thing at Coon Rapids.............. Until you had to worry about the stray bullets and muggings.blueliner5 wrote:MrBoDangles....You really don't need directions, unless you have no idea where Fogarty Arena is.
