The new rules will make Edina one of the teams to beat, their small quick forwards can now keep the puck and skate with it. Minnetonks seems to be missing something, they just do not seem to have the jump right now. Watching the game live the game seemed really even but puck control went to Edina. If you go to the old rules Minnetonka would beat them just about everytime, but the new rules have changed who the top teams are. The quick fast skilled teams are now the ones to beat.

i was listening to one of the players today at school on the edina team and he was talking about how the game did not feel at all like a rivalry game because there was not a lot of hitting and physicalness and he was saying it was because at least for the kids on edina they didn't want to end up giving minnetonka a 5 min powerplay and were afraid of getting a penalty because of the new rule change

That would be great. It will make the game more enjoyable to watch.

Seeing a kid "finish" his check does nothing for me. Plus, it takes that kid out of the play. If the players will learn to become more skilled, than this is a good thing for MN HS hockey.

You described the game very well, why lay this turd comment at the end? Both Tonka and Edina (and all other associations) have done tremendous fundraising efforts for Jabs #13. Keep counting buttons at each game!
