Sophomore Scoring

Post by Nobodyonya »

Just curious if there was a thread started on Sophomore scoring. Interesting to see what players are excelling at the Varsity ranks. I noticed the Freshman thread and may have missed the Sophomore thread(?)

As far as I know there isnt one but you could start one if you wanted to, it would be interesting to see how they match up with everyone else.

Strand added 2 goals and not sure how many assists and Yon also had some points in the Rams beating of St. Cloud Tech yesterday afternoon. These two are looking really good so far and some of the plays these two make are really good for 2 sophomores.

I'd go Sheehy or Kuhlman for Mr. Hockey 2014.

I'm definitely a homer, but Beaulieu has the best hands of any sophomore I've seen play in the state yet. His skating could use improvement but its coming along. If he sticks around for two more years he'll be in Mr. Hockey conversations. The only time I saw Kuhlman play was against East and the only good looking Cloquet player that day was their goalie. But my uncle is in Cloquet and tells me he's a stud, not to mention his numbers, so I have to believe he's legit. Sheehy looks like the real deal too, from the couple games I've seen. Love seeing these underclassmen playing so well, especially when you consider the body maturity and growth that can happen between 16 and 18.

I've seen Peterson from Rapids play a few times this year, and he looks like a pretty solid player. I've also talked to a few people from the Roseau area, and they all have agreed that their current sophomore class (specifically Strand and Yon) is one of the best they've had in recent memory.....hopefully this leads to a revival of both of these former Northern powerhouses!

He led the scoring charts last season as a freshman.

The Real Deal.
