Eagan 2, Lakeville North 1
Eagan’s Megan Wolfe scored a power play goal in the first period and Shelby Williams notched the game winner in the second period to lead the Wildcats over Lakeville North. Eagan’s Emma May stopped 30 of 31 Panther shots to preserve the victory.
An upset according to our panel – only Knight7, Nordic and sinbin had Eagan winning and they pick up a point on the field.
Elk River/Zimmerman 1, Anoka 1
The Elks’ Jordan McLaughlin scored at 14:20 of the 3rd period to tie the game at 1, and that’s how the game ended. Both goalies were sharp in net as the Elks’ Tori Herrmann and the Tornadoes’ Katie McClain made 24 and 32 saves respectively.
Nordic astutely picked these two teams to tie (by a 2-2 score) and is the only prognosticator to earn a point (nice job!). Of our remaining 13, 10 had No. 2 ranked Anoka winning and 3 had No. 7 ER/Z.
Mounds View 4, Stillwater 1
The Mustangs beat the Ponies 4-1 on the strength of two goals and one assist by Maddie Peake and a strong 28 save performance by Mary Dingman. The game was tied at one going into the 3rd period, and for the game Stillwater outshot Mounds View by a 29-23 margin.
A very evenly divided game according to our panel of experts.
Seven were right in picking Mounds View, and seven were wrong in either picking Stillwater or thinking it would end in a tie.
I knew this was going to be a tough night!

A much closer game than was predicted, as all but one of us had BSM winning by at least two goals, and scoring at least four goals. 13 of 14 pick up a single point.
I hope to have another score or two posted (as well as a preliminary leaderboard) before calling it a night.

Hopkins 4, Eden Prairie 3
Corbin Boyd scored the game winner at 3:18 of the 3rd period to give the Royals a Lake Conference win over the Eagles. Boyd also had an assist in the 1st period and the Royal’s Mari Mankey scored a goal and two assists. For the game Eden Prairie had a 34-22 edge in shots on goal.
Another game where our panel was pretty evenly divided. But 6 of 14 correctly thought Hopkins would take it, and low and behold we got our first two correct scores for the week. D16Dad and hckynut12 both predicted a 4-3 Hopkins victory and pick up the bonus point.
We are now waiting the result for just one more game, Mound-Westonka vs. Rogers.
