I wasn't too concerned with the goalie play. His first one he let in was bad but the other one was all on the D and the third was an absolute prayer, more of a dump in than a shot but it went between four guys and he never got to see it.. All in all Parker played pretty good, his huge save in the first minute was just that, huge. Unfortunately Superior is so small that East looked like thugs out there crushing them cause they kept putting their heads down. So it was the penalties that really gave Sooptown some hope. And that goalie for Superior stood on his head in the second period to keep them in it. Anyone else notice that Randolph really shuffled up the lines after the 3-0 lead and never put them back to normal? Even after Superior started to come back? Superior was a lot more gritty than I expected and I can now understand how they played Hermantown to one goal games. But East can't let games get this close after a dominating 3-0 first period.karl(east) wrote:That was pretty brutal. No injured player excuse to use this time, either.
The defense and goaltending is the primary concern coming out of this one, but they also need players not named Jake Randolph to score. That second line needs to get going again.
Props to Superior for taking the fight to the Hounds. On to Blaine.
