I just think its funny. Thats all. I would assume it must be diffucult for some to go watch a HS game and enjoy it. My opinion is let the kids enjoy their youth and parents stay out of it and just enjoy watching their kids play. I am sure most of the adults on this only wish they were young again, that is why they want to voice their opinions about their kid and other kids playing hockey now. Just good humor to read some of the messages that people put on here. If as though it is the biggest worry of the day for them on what seed their team gets or what others think about their favorite team.

Lets start a new topic like, lets just wait until the coaches vote because what we say and think doesn't matter. I bet coaches don't read this and think good idea. For that matter I would guess a single HS coach probably has never been on this site. Another thing, does it really matter if a team is ranked in the polls during the season? Does that mean they don't have a chance to go to the state tourny, or is it just bragging rights for fans and parents around the watering hole during the work week? Do seedings really matter or is that a bragging rights thing too? Home team gets last change other which is big but not the end all. Other then that who cares what seed you get!! If I recall you need to win all the games during a section tournament to go to state tourny.
You need to switch to decaf. Everyone here is having a fun discussion. DeerHunter, the seeds greatly affects how things will play out. Yeah, you still have to play, but one side of the bracket is usually better than the other. Simply from an enjoyment perspective I love seeing the semi-finals play out where East and Cloquet play in the early game, then Rapids plays in the late game. Looks like I'll get my wish this year.

You mean a high school hockey discussion group has the nerve to talk about all things high school hockey?

You took the time to register, read, and post on a HS hockey message board just to essentially say that people shouldn't post on a HS hockey message board? Is this your biggest worry?

People have fun on here. If you're not, then why are you here?

Big win for Rapids last night. Just could be enough to get them the #3 seed.

I haven't found a rankings on any web site that covers HS hockey that has Andover higher than Rapids. Rapids has more quality wins than Andover. Either way they'll meet in the semi-finals and then we'll see what's what.

Besides Moorhead, what quality win does Rapids have? And don't list WBL, as they have not beaten a team outside of the weak SEC since Rochester Century at the beginning of the year!

GR big win over Moorhead over the weekend. Game was well played with GR's special teams winning it for them. New penalty rules will help teams like GR, top end talent.

you will see GR facing DE in finals of section to go to State. DE teams over the years have choked in big games, just like losing to Tonka in January!

Big game tonight between DE and Cloquet. Cloquet will test them!

Going to the game and will be interested to see how Randolph's boys will do against a Cloquet team that will make a late season surge to make things interesting in Section 7!

You know East Beat Moorhead 6-3 and the new rules help East as well as they did score 3PPGs on sat.. Also might want to hold off on the GR East final, with the way Perry is playing for Andover they could beat GR in the semis

IMO - Not sure the new rules will help GR, they've always had success when their physicality disrupts the flow of the other team. That's been their formula for success against East in the last few years. Now that physicality comes with higher risk, I don't think it'll be advantageous for them. The game against WBL seemed to confirm that for me.

Agree completely. In the few games I have seen them play this year Rapids has had a suspect power play. They seem to be much more in sync when it is 5 on 5.

Maybe everyone needs to wait to see how the coaches will seed the section. Rapids thought they had an argument, not anymore... Only one good win, now a bad loss to a single A team late in the season. I just don't understand the hype on GR, is it just me?

Give it a week and let the dust settle. All I know is this section is stacked up in the middle. :?

The final road will have to go through East in the end, so it really doesn't matter.

It definitely is. For now, I'd put ER at 3 and GR at 4, but with the way this season has gone I wouldn't be shocked to see a surprise at the seeding meeting.

Grand Rapids has some fine top-end talent, but they were a bit thin to begin with and Underwood's injury does not help. They've had flashes (the Moorhead win, 1-goal losses to East and Edina), but losses like tonight's don't bode well. They can only ride Bischoff and Peterson so far...
