(DE 6 Andover 1) no bad losses, now that's a section semi or final I want to see I mean DE wants to see
Well...DE will be favored by a touchdown over whoever they play in sections. But you never know in a 1 game deal.
only against Andover and ER because they tremble at the name DE and the only hope they have of playing them is if they don't play Cloquet or FL in the quarter finals
Saint Micheal Albertville deserves to be mentioned 2 and 1 in section play and 13 -8 overall record.
Still some impact games to be played which should make the meeting quite interesting. No matter who ends up where it will be a very heated section battles which is what everybody should want to see.

10:00 East vs. St. Francis
12:30 Rapids vs. Cambridge
4:00 Andover vs. Forest Lake
6:30 Cloquet vs. Elk River
Nice win for Elk River. The loss to Anoka is still a head scratcher though. I have never doubted their talent. This puts them into consideration, but I still feel Rapids shouldn't be even considered for the 4 seed. The Maple Grove win certainly is way better than anything Andover has. It's simply gonna come down to how each coach wants to see things come out. I have an opinion on how they should go and what will happen. Statistically Rapids has fewer losses with a tougher schedule than Elk River and Andover. Only 3 days away, so let's just wait now.
hopefully it's not going to come down to how each COACH wants to see things come out, give the seed to the best team, keep the politics OUT gr only chance
Grand Rapids 19-6-0
Andover 16-6-2
Elk River 14-8-2
This carries a lot of weight, 19-6 is a pretty glitzy record, considering also that the Iron Range Conference single A teams are way better than North Metro, Robbinsdale Armstrong, Champlin Park, and Osseo. But I guess Hibbing sucks, that's why defending national champion UMD went there to recruit Adam Johnson.
I am also going to have to say that the seedings should go as follows:
1. Duluth East
2. Andover
3. Elk River
4. Grand Rapids
Obviously no argument about East at #1, after that it is all spectulation. The reason I chose to have Andover at #2 was that even though Elk River just beat Maple Grove which does help their case a lot I just cant get around the fact that Andover has already proven that they can beat ER... Twice. Having Elk River at 3 just seems right especially after their win vs Maple Grove. This gives them more to say than they beat GR back in December even if that possibly couldve been enough for the 3 seed. Then you have GR at 4 where it just seems you cant put them above any of the teams ahead of them based on them losing to ER and East and not playing Andover. That said you never know what team is going to come to play for the Thunderhawks which I why I would least like to play them if I was one of the teams in 7AA.
1. East
2. Elk River (will tie Rapids in votes and get 2 cuz of the tiebreaker OT win)
3. Grand Rapids
4. Andover
5. Cloquet
I don't mean to ruin your all North final pipe dream, but head to head counts a lot. Andover beat ER twice and will finish ahead of us in the conference...There is no way we will be seeded higher than them. So then going by your logic GR will have to be 4. It might not be totally fair, and I would agree GR is better than a 4 seed but it is what it is. I think GR has a better chance at the 2 seed, than Andover being the 4.

YES. I am right on that with no logical argument against it. Osseo, North Metro, Coon Rapids, Robbinsdale Armstrong, TWICE. That is a pathetic schedule. PATHETIC!!!! You lost the argument. GAME OVER!!!

Elk River has also played the following teams twice: Maple Grove, Blaine, Eden Prairie, Centennial and Andover. All of which are better than any IRC team Rapids has played. Add Edina and Jefferson and you have a schedule that is much more difficult than Rapids' schedule. I'd like to see Rapids a 2 or 3 seed, but Elk River and Andover have earned a high seed than Rapids.
1. Duluth East
2. Elk River
3. Grand Rapids
4. Andover
Looking at Andover and Rapids it is virtually a coin flip but one stat stands out. Andover 6 - 1 loss to Duluth East will be just enough to put Rapids in the 3 seed.
Elks win over Maple Grove was uncontested game for Maple Grove. They had nothing to play for in that game. Still looks good on Elks resume and might propel them to number 2.
Only one team in the state can claim "quality" losses when players are out of the line up or sick in Karl's ranking system. The rest of us take our collective lumps.

ER's worst loss (Anoka) is worse than GR's, (Hibbing), but ER's best win (MG) is better than GR's best win (Moorhead), that combined with the ER win in the head-to-head matchup probably gives them the higher seed. These 7AA teams really need to start scheduling each other more, this is ridiculous.
