Appears to be mixed thoughts and reviews on this tourney. Considering fee, lodging and meals an expensive tourney.
Any thoughts on this tourney?
Does it really give a player exposure or is it primarily a money maker?
How many scouts will be attending?

Like all of these spring tournaments, this one has become one of many. The problem is that there are so many avenues for players to play and, as promoters got greedy, they started opening them up to more and more players. The next thing you know the talent pool drops, play isn't as good, really good players start to look elsewhere to play and the scouts learn that it isn't the best venue to see top players anymore. It seems to be the cycle with most of these tournaments now. Great money makers but not a great way to see top talent.deacon64 wrote:Interesting, really makes a person wonder why it is marketed at so many scouts attending.
The biggest benefit is if your player is from a smaller school and you want him to be seen by the Elite league coaching staff - they are usually there coaching teams. However, even that has become less important as the Hockey Hub and other sites have made it easier for players to get some recognition even from smaller schools.
Other than that, it is well organized so if you are okay with paying for a nice tourney with no expectations of true scouting (there will be some MnJHL coaches) it is a nicely run deal that gives your kid a chance to skate.
