Re: PeeWee A District Playoff Scores
What your joking right? This was an actual playoff game that ended in a tie and the winner was determined by who the higher see was? If this is true every idiot on the D2 board should get deported to Wisconsin. If this is true this is the saddest thing I have seen on this board. Playoffs are all about who is hot at the time, upsets are the great way of playoff hockey.Snoopdog007 wrote:D2

Re: PeeWee A District Playoff Scores
This was a playoff game. There are 9 teams in D2 and this game was a knockout game. The winner gets slotted in 8 team bracket. I agree this is a brutal way to end a kids season. The bracket games do of course have OT.ThePuckStopsHere wrote:What your joking right? This was an actual playoff game that ended in a tie and the winner was determined by who the higher see was? OK so here is the rule right off the D2 website. They must have played one OT period and it was still tied (see C). I still don't like it.Mnhockeys wrote:Geez, this is unbelievable. Who made out this kind of rule? Why should a playoff (play-in) game be treated differently? Winner is the one who won the game!
6.4.3 One and One-Half Hour (1.5 hours) Game Format Knock-out Rounds
a. There will be three fifteen minute stop time periods. If a five (5) goal differential exists in the third
period, running time will begin. If the differential becomes less than five (5) goals, stop time will
resume.
b. Ice will be resurfaced after each game.
c. If the game is still tied at the end of the overtime period, team that is seeded higher will advance to the
next round

Interestingly, I noticed that NSP beat Mahtomedi 3-0 three days ago in final league game. It's not Mahtomedi's fault that the silly rule exists though.farmington14 wrote:So in this case a tie is really a loss, bet they change that rule next year! Maybe the lower seeded team should be the team to advance because the better team did not beat them? Not like this in D8, a winner must be a winner to advance!

Ouch!! Knowing that little fact makes this whole thing sting even worse! Nothing they can do about it now...the rule is clearly stated regardless of how stupid it is.Interestingly, I noticed that NSP beat Mahtomedi 3-0 three days ago in final league game.
