You're waiting for Eden Prairie to be mentioned, aren't you?SuperStar wrote:Since we are near the end, who has gotten your attention through out the year.

If we're talking "Most Surprising Team", it's not East at all. They haven't been a surprise.SuperStar wrote:OOH Lee! Thats a nice start to this topic, Thanks man. I was gonna say Duluth EAST ...One of the best teams to ever grace Minnesota High School Hockey League ....
But your reaction to my reply says a lot.

Nor does Eden Prairie fit the criteria here. Who was it (you?) who said they "just reload". Based on that, they should be great every year. The only surprise would be if the Iggles don't make it to state.SuperStar wrote:No, no they haven't. Great team, maybe one of the best ever!! No one can beat them from here on out.
Back to the subject..

Thanks!SuperStar wrote:That was not I.
And look at little Pucky U, jumping in on the sarcasm. That was very good wording, I'm impressed. I didn't know you knew how to spell "Playbook" Again, nice job kid.
I was actually not being sarcastic. Coach Larson said the same about his team (Breck) last year.
I was merely making a comparison.

Does anyone have any interest in seriously discussing topics, or was the whole point of the post to serve as a catalyst for personal attacks?
I think Eden Prairie was quite surprising this year. They no doubt should have been a solid team, but not one that could beat Eagan and Minnetonka. I would say the same about Wayzata, who was supposed to be down but gave Minnetonka, Edina, Maple Grove, or others everything they could handle. They are not one of the state's top few, but I certainly wouldn't want to have to play them in an elimination game. Edina is also much better than expected given their youth. I'm not saying that anyone thought that any of these teams would be mediocre, but all won some big games that were unexpected.
The bigger surprises were perhaps the teams that underachieved, like Grand Rapids and Benilde. Very surprised that Rapids didn't do more, and I would have expected Benilde to be in the top three. They of course still have their chance to put it all together, so who knows?
But the biggest surprise this year? Elk River or Andover if they can beat East.

You're a good sport.SuperStar wrote:Ohhh little pucky couldn't resist. You seem so eager to have your precious "moment" and try to rub in the Eagles loss. So, I'll let you have it. Hopefully your happy now.
EP players and fans have no reason to hang their heads. Two state titles AND two players who were named Mr. Hockey in three years isn't too shabby.
The Armstrong loss was undoubtedly humbling.
