Good one. Wolffe and May with Repensky and Moore in a close second.

Freemark is a top 5 defenseman in the state IMO. He plays good d zone coverage, always makes good decisions with the puck and gets involved in the offense in appropriate times. Not to mention, I've never seen him get beat on a 1 on 1.

Really?

He's better than... Schurhamer, Gross, Nelson, Reno, Death, Halverson, Repensky, Moore, Heinrich, Jim Schuldt, May, Wolfe????

I just said IMO, but yes I do think he is better than Nelson, Reno, Death, Halverson, Repensky, Heinrich
May and Wolfe are probably the best pair, but I was just saying for a single defenseman

Von Ruden is sophmore defenseman, moves the puck very efficiently and can shutdown 1 on 1's and 2 on 1's all the time. High IQ for the game does not get rattled.

Noticed him as well. Good player, but not in the same level as Gross, May, Schurhamer, Brodzinski, etc. May be just as good if not better than these others at the level next year....The kid definitely has the tools to be a GREAT player!

Yes. Today's game doesn't change my opinion. There are certainly other duos worthy of consideration, but May and Wolfe are the best pair in my opinion.

For the best pair in the state to play that bad in the state tournament... doesn't make sense to me.

I was at the game so I didn't have the luxury of instant replay on plays where Moorhead scored, but once Eagan got down by a couple goals the entire Eagan team was trying to force a goal past Bitzer, including the defensemen. I can't say I blame them for that because scoring a few goals against Bitzer with less than 10 minutes left is a tough task, might as well go all-in and see what you can do.
