2002 Elite Team Tryouts

Post by Chandler23 »

When might the next Twin Cities-based elite team tryout occur for 2002s? I'll hang up and listen.

Chandler: Send in your tax return, last two pay stubs, past 2 seasons of well padded stats for Jr. They'll call you if you make it.

All of my financials are in order.

Is a black Tahoe provided for the dad once the kid makes an elite team or does the family have to go out and buy one?

You MUST buy the black Tahoe, as well as the black North Face jacket. It is a requirement, NO EXCEPTIONS!

Bitter that you haven't heard from the Team MN coach yet? You got half of it right. Just hang up.

So... anyway, if someone knows of one just let me know. Or if someone is short a goalie for a tournament then look our way. My son didn't try out for any teams this spring. But he got asked to play in a couple tournaments. But I turned them down because they felt like money grabs. And Tahoes and North Face jackets aren't cheap. Gotta pick your battles.

Aren't those North Face jackets supposed to be for people that climb mountains and stuff like that? Most of the people I see wearing them would have a hard time climbing back up on their barstools....

Most of the truly "Elite" teams (otherwise known as...teams that think they are the greatest) will not hold try-outs. If your child is that good, word travels fast, so they already know and they will contact you (whoever "they" may happen to be). No joke. Otherwise, the rest will start posting in June.

So you're saying Blades, Machine, Gold, etc. already have their goalies picked before tryouts?

Well what tournament is little chandler23 available for and at what price? Sounds like you have already gotten some offers and turned them down.

If I were an Elite team coach where would I go to check the going rate for an "elite" level 2002 goalie? Would I pay more if he played up a level to an open 2001 team? Does the rate scale as the level of difficulty increases? Do you discount if he lets in a soft goal or if I have to pull him?

As far as Tahoes and North Face jackets go, I would have to disagree. :D

An "elite" 10 year old goalie? Give me a break! Most the goalies on these teams have a pretty pad slide and plenty of flash, whiz, bang, but hardly ever face many shots, let alone difficult shots.

Up to 1300 views! Who needs a goalie? Might have to wait for tryouts in the fall...
