Yes, there are some very good players on that team. I think #11 is the very fast skater. That one defensive pairing is real fun to watch. They play real tight to the play with one being more traditional and the other counter attacking every chance like Brian Leetch. It seemed in the third game like their coach figured it out and told his kids to dump the puck out of the zone in hopes of catching a breaking forward....it worked for a late goal and they had another late scoring chance.

Very good hockey for sure. Any weak kids would get exposed real fast at this level.

Go get 'em! They've surely proved the doubters on this board wrong!
Expressing an opinion and doubting are two different things. Do you have any issue if some one wants 100% Minnesota kids on a team called Team Minnesota? It makes perfect sense to me. If you can't find 3 Minnesota kids that are equal or better talent to play on this team then some thing is extremely wrong.

No one ever answered my questions. I would appreciate it if some would.

1) Who's coaching Team Minnesota?
2) What program is this coach from?
3) Are there any Machine kids playing on Team Minnesota?
4) Any Northern kids on Team Minnesota?

The answer to all questions above is simple. Go team Minnesota!

Agreed, take the old rants to a different thread. Nice job by Team MN so far! Was really impressed with the last 3 games they've played. Heartbreaker to see Detroit tie that game right at the end but most importantly their fate is still in their hands. Good luck tomorrow morning! Regardless of the outcome it's been a great showing.

Appreciate this then.

1) Greg Dornbach. He played for the U.S. in the World Junior, did well at college (Miami), and played on the state title team in 1984. He probably won't get interviewed like Draper, but he is surely qualified to coach 10-year-old hockey.

2) Edina.

3) No.

4) I don't think so. I have been told all players, with the exception of a goalie, regularly attend all practices. So they are basically local.

I don't care if you want 100% anything, but I've got to ask. Do you want 100% New England kids on Boston, 100% Illinois kids on Chicago, and 100% Manitoba kids on Winnipeg? Seems like you should. Just be sure to raise a fuss that they are reliant on players from Florida and Colorado in order to round out a competitive team. And be sure to never get over the fact a Floridian led the tournament in scoring two years ago when he played for Toronto.

One kid from Miami Beach made the Jr. Bruins. Another from Naples flew up for two rounds of tryouts but did not get selected.

I have no idea where the Roseau brothers are. They can't be more than two hours from Winnipeg. Do they tryout there?

Another example of how USA hockey has drained youth participation within state competition. Why the interest within the MN team when the Jr. Bruins should attract your interest? Lots of opinions towards MN hockey being so.. so far away clown. Winnipeg is not that far from Roseau when it comes to competition but you already knew that as well.

Ugotz, is that some Yoda-esque alternative sentence structure? What does "drained youth participation within state competition" mean? USA Hockey registers more players and teams than they used to...but you are citing a sharp drop in participation? Please explain.

I have a passing interest in the event. My son has been teammates with three kids and has played against another 10 that we know of. It's interesting to see how they do. Kinda like if you recently played golf with a lady and she was at Blackwolf today. Of course you'd check to see what she shot.

2-2-1 in 2009
1-4 in 2010
1-4-1 in 2011

Some people sure were critical after those finishes and some allegedly poor showings from this same core of Blades kids. Now they are doing well, so it's puzzling to find folks critical of their approach. The results on the ice seem to indicate success by any measure.

Best of luck to the kids tomorrow. Big game with Toronto.

"Citing a sharp drop in participation" and a "lady golfing at Blackwolf today"....what? Clown, you have brought a whole new meaning to USA Hockey tonight. Thanks for helping everyone understand that we are grounded in Minnesota with your guidance. Good luck to all the MN players tomorrow and don't feed the Clown.

Couple thoughts and qualifiers. I have been to the brick, its a fun tournament and a great experience for the kids. I hope their enjoying all the extras, that is where the memories are made.

That being said, I hope they win tomorrow, but should any one that is not a parent of a player care? Curiosity is one thing...but some of the involvement of intrest and passion for 10 yr old hockey is creepy and a microcosm of why youth hockey in mn is so nuts. Try to bring up this topic to a friend who knows next to nothing about youth hockey and take in the response when you tell them about dropping $10 to watch youth hockey on the internet on a beautiful & hot july 4th week.

Also, doesn't anyone really see why their having success or the motivations behind it? Another microcosm of the ills of youth hockey. All about winning, not development. They should've just stuck with the blades name, and not team mn. Because they are winning because of a young, dominating goalie from MO. He has a .975 save %! That is better than j. Quick! If they scored one less goal to this point, they would be 12th in the tourney in scoring. How are they developing mn hockey, when they are being carried by a MO. Goalie and have only 10 mn skaters?? To recruit better down the road with these results is the long~winded answer. Does og85, hd41 or o town care about the 5~6 mn skaters who were led to believe for over 2 yrs. That they'd be going to the brick? Imports can be used, but the blades never did before...why now? Gotta have those selling points for the 05's, 06's and on down the line. Keep it classy the state of hockey.

Take a break from the Blades bashing. This week is about rooting for our team.

Gotta beat Toronto!

HOLY COW... do you work at the Post Office?

Anyways.... I think the Officials in the U.S. must be having Helmet fitting troubles as they all seem to have common sense squeezed out of their gords. These "Rebels" officiating the Tournament WITHOUT HELMETS have been doing an excellent job! Might be something to it?... :D

Tied 0-0. Toronto scored with about 5 minutes left. Then put in an empty netter. 2-0 final. Now they have to wait and see if they get in for this weekend's action.

I think they had 2 back-up goalies that never played a minute. Isn't that right? That's a LOT of money for nothing.

I agree the kid was solid. But how do you bring 3 goalies? The parents must have known in advance that he wasn't going to play a minute. Otherwise they'd probably be furious, even if the Missouri kid was the top goaltender of the tournament.

I thought I heard announcer say quarterfinal round, which would mean four from each division. Couldn't find anything on website, can anyone confirm?

Either way, great job team Minnesota! Way to go boys!!!
