Thanks for the confirmation - looks like the Royals gave the Hornets all they wanted.
Edina's win is worth 3 points to each of the 11 contestants who predicted they would win the Championship. Here is the updated leaderboard as we head into tomorrow's quarterfinal round of the Kaposia Tournament (plus a fifth game, North Wright County at Mound-Westonka):
Two of our five games are now in so I'll provide a brief update:
Minnetonka 5, Hill-Murray 0
Seven different Skippers got points, led by Laura Bowman with 2 goals and 1 assist and Amy Petersen with 3 assists. Sydney Rossman stopped all 16 Pioneers shots for the shutout.
Eleven prognosticators predicted Minnetonka would win, and they get a point apiece. There were no correct scores for this game.
Roseville 1, Blake 1 (An official tie in the record books, but Roseville advances in the tournament as they won the shootout)
Wow, this one was a surprise to almost all of our experts. Only one (D16Dad) had Blake winning the game vs. the vast majority who thought Roseville would win pretty easily. Apparently, the Raiders missed Stecklein and Flug quite a bit, maybe more than Blake missed Cameranesi? Can't really say unless you were there...
In any case I've decided to give EVERYBODY a point even though officially it'll go down as a tie. With three games yet to go this evening sinbin still leads the field by a single point!
South St. Paul 7, Hibbing 0 [shots were 52-12 in favor of SSP]
North Wright County 2, Mound-Westonka 2 (OT Tie) [shots 49-22 NWC)
As of almost midnight there is no score being reported for the Warroad/Jefferson game. Everybody predicted Warroad would win this one, so barring any correct scores it won't have significant impact on our leaderboard. So without this game figured in, here is where we stand:
Tomorrow we'll have the two Kaposia semifinal games that are worth 2 points apiece. In the Upper Bracket semi there is some disagreement amongst our leaders as to which one (Minnetonka or Roseville?) will advance to the final. This is turning out to be THE pivotal game in terms of who wins Weeks 6 & 7.
The Star Tribune paper is showing a 2-2 overtime tie between Warroad and Bloomington Jefferson, but a little digging this morning indicates that Warroad did advance to the lower bracket semifinal game in a shootout. Officially it goes into the record books as a 2-2 tie, so congrats to Jefferson, the clear underdog in just about everyone's eyes.
Similar to what we did following the Roseville/Blake game, everyone gets a point in this one. Here are the new point totals:
Final score according to the Pioneer Press website:
Minnetonka 4, Roseville 0
Assuming this is true, it's pretty obvious that the loss of Stecklein and Flug really hurt the Raiders, as did Hill-Murray missing Brandt and SSP missing LaShomb. Sure would have been nice if all teams would have been at full strength, but on the other hand you have to congratulate all of the girls who are getting a good look at the next level...and they will all be back when it REALLY counts in Sections.
Look for an updated leaderboard to be posted tomorrow once this evenings scores have been confirmed.

Another thought I'm having based on the Skippers tournament results is the reinforcement of what I thought previously while watching that early season tussle between H-M (with Brandt) and Minnetonka...that thought being that Minnetonka is a pretty darn good team. I initially thought they'd suffer the loss of the 2010-2011 senior class fairly significantly. I now think I was very wrong about that.

No doubt they will be a force to defend their title. Early season losses to top teams aren't always a bad thing. You have new girls every year that need to step up and take charge of the team. Sometimes that takes a few games. Certainly a nice performance so far. I'd guess Tonka will beat Warroad by 4 tonight, but you never know.
Anyone know who came out on top in the Minnetonka/Roseville game?
Do you know if this is the correct score? The Hub is showing strange stuff - the final score is listed as 3-0 but the Scoring Summary shows 6-0 (but 1 of the goals appears to be a duplicate). I'm guessing 5-0 is probably correct.

I was very confused by what I saw on the Hub last night as well...but I looked further using Google and it seemed nearly certain that the correct score was 5-0. I then looked at this morning's Star Tribune (paper) and they also show 5-0, and the included box score does show Warroad scoring 5 goals vs. none for SSP. So whoever was inputting the data onto the Hub site was apparently having some difficulties!
The championship of the 2011 Kaposia Tournament is in the books and this year's winner is:
the Minnetonka Skippers!
as they beat the Warroad Warriors tonight 5-3. From the box score it looks like is was a VERY exciting game, as the two teams went into the 3rd period tied 2-2. The final shot count was also about as even as you can get, at 31-30 Warroad.
Congratulations to Roseville on a great tournament and also to Warroad on their runner-up finish.
Things went my way in our Weeks 6 & 7 pick 'em contest, as I was fortunate enough to have picked both Edina and Minnetonka to win their respective tournaments...here are the final point totals:

Did you mean Minnetonka Skippers? I wasn't at the tournament, but I thought Tonka beat Roseville in the semi's.
Well, that would be a great thing to watch all the hockey games. I feel proud that woman hockey team is doing a good job by giving their full strength in the game like man, they fight with full will power as I have seen hockey world cup between Australia and Germany. I think schools or colleges should motivate woman hockey to prepare them for international cup. ranker
