We went out to MN Made last Thursday and shot some video of the 02 Blades vs. 02 Euros....testing our wares as we move to capture some video this year.
It's really good, except the video quality, the broadcaster, the sound and the editing quality (i.e. the players did their job). Note: we are talking about the Blades goalie and show footage of the Euro goalie (lol). Ten goals were scored, we got 3 for you guys to see.
Enjoy (I know my wife did),

I haven’t met a MN youth hockey fan that doesn’t appreciate the reach this forum and YHH has established in reporting game and tournament results throughout the season. Finally, we can get up to date results without having to wait for LPH or peruse individual team sites for results of key games. From all of us, thank you!!
But, I’d like to offer a bit of advice to Fred, Tony and any other would-be journalists as we approach a new season. Keep the predictions, speculation and “top player” lists to yourself. We all enjoy reading your game recaps (and now video recaps) and seeing the names of the kids who stepped up for their team that night. What compromises your “journalistic integrity” is your attempt to parlay fact into enlightened speculation. Especially when it comes to naming (forbidden in the past) which 12 year old is the best kid in the world at his position. Now I hear TS is going to track the top 50 squirts throughout his publications. Have we gone mad? C’mon, who is stepping up to follow mites and U8’s?
Believe it or not, these kids read your articles. Mostly to keep in touch with the teams and kids they’ve played with in different instances over the past few years. They want to read how other teams are doing, not be compared to their peers in a speculative and unenlightened Youth Hockey Combine Report. Leave the biased comparisons to the parents.
Comment on the facts, after the fact. You’ll be better respected.
(I’ll spare us all the subsequent post. Someone is about to chime in and say, “If you don’t like it, don’t read it!”)

NC: Thank you for the kind and insightful words about our site (much of what you said is duly noted).NCs wrote:YouthHockeyHub wrote:We went out to MN Made last Thursday and shot some video of the 02 Blades vs. 02 Euros....testing our wares as we move to capture some video this year.

I don't want to get into a tit for tat message board dispute because what you say is very well said and warranted. The only thing I will clarify is the Top 50 Squirts will not be a publishable document. We are simply tracking players from all over the state in order to name a player of the year in the 8 divisions we cover - I'm sure Fred will do his annual Top 50 PWAs.
In order to do a thorough job of naming a POY, you need to make a list. That's all I'm doing. I'm doing it for all of the A divisions to start the year - the 3 B divisions we cover will develop over time.
The Bantam/14A lists are the trickiest because so many top 9th graders go onto high school hockey.
Hope this makes sense.
