Hill-Murray - Edina History

Post by bob »

Tonight at Aldrich at 6pm. They have not played since Dec. 26, 2002. They played every year for 19 years from 84-85 through 02-03. Edina (including Edina East & Edina West in the 1970s) holds the all time series lead at 13-12-2. HM dominated in the 1990s going 9-3. Edina is 4-0 vs. HM in State Tournament games. These include the 1988 State Final, which they won 5-3, a classic 3 OT game in the 1997 Semis, which they won 5-4, and a 2 OT Quarterfinal game in 2000, won by Edina 2-1.

Edited by: <A HREF=http://p100.ezboard.com/bmnhs.showUserP ... nhs>bob at: 12/28/05 12:32 pm

My son and I are starting the transfer of the entire 1988 State Tournament from VHS to DVD today. The resolution is AWFUL. Probably didn't help I watched those games probably 40 times since I've taped them. Bloomington Jefferson is up 2-1 after one over Grand Rapids (as I recall, Jefferson wins in OT). Jeff Saterdalen just got hurt in the corner on a breakaway (think he dislocated his shoulder). Next up, an OT victory for my pioneers over John Marshall...

6 to 1 Hill after 2. From what I hear the Hornets are outclassed and outmatched in this one.

Edited by: <A HREF=http://p100.ezboard.com/bmnhs.showUserP ... dChase1 at: 12/28/05 7:20 pm
