Can you tell the Achiever coach to get his roster in to the Minnesota State High School League so that they can put it online? Thanks. Otherwise, you'll have to keep me updated on this squad. Minnesota Hockey Hub has the names, but not the school year. Thanks.scorekeeper wrote:1999 born 8th grader Bubba Thompson with a hat trick + an apple for 4pts in Achiever Aces 7-1 win over Richfield

Catching up with some late reporting Saturday games:
Bloomington Jefferson downed Cloquet 7-6 in OT with A.J. Robbel getting the game-winner. Cloquet's Koby Bender also picked up his first varsity goal.
Thomas Miller scored 1 goal and assisted on 1 as Little Falls beat International Falls 5-1.
Luverne slid past Worthington 9-2 with frosh Chaz Smedsrud getting 1 goal and 1 assist.
St. Paul Academy (SPA) ruined Richfield's picnic with a 10-1 win. Producing points for SPA were:
Jared Mickelson, 3a
Justin Jallen, 2g
Evan Dahlseide, 1a
Derek Hammer picked up 3 goals in East Ridge's last two games.
Ben Haugo assisted on 2 goals as Litchfield dropped a game to Willmar, 6-3.
Wadena/Deer Creek has jumped out to a 2-0 record this season with two freshmen among their scoring leaders, Mike Behl (3g, 2a) and Dylan Phillips (3g, 2a).
One of the top 8th graders last season, Alec Baer (then playing for St. Louis Park) scored his first goal for Benilde/St. Margarets as they beat Moorhead 6-1. I notice that his brother (or cousin) still plays for St. Louis Park.
Nice recruiting job, Maggie's Boys!

I'm guessing that it's taking every single ounce of Scorekeeper's willpower not to comment in this thread, so in the interest of his health I'll note that Eagan Freshman Jesse Gabrielle has 1 goal and 1 assist after two games.Teak wrote:Catching up with some late reporting Saturday games:
Pretty sure that the assist was misidentified by the refs, but these sorts of things happen now and then, and it'll probably even out over the course of the season.

I use the Minnesota State High School League website (http://www.mshsl.org) to identify freshmen on varsity.GordonBombay99 wrote:Take a look at the St Cloud Apollo roster and the St Cloud Cathedral roster, I believe both teams have freshmen with points.
St. Cloud Apollo only shows a frosh goalkeeper.
St. Cloud Cathedral shows three frosh:
Logan Neu, 1 game 0-0
Trevor Cornelius, 3 games, 0-0
Mattson Courrier, 3 games, 0-0
If you know otherwise, please inform. Thanks.
Thanks for the reminder. I have Gabrielle on the radar, but only showed the summary down through 3 points. I have a bit more catching up to do before showing the slew of 2-pointers and 1-pointers; in fact, I usually chop off the end of the summary as the season progresses. Occasionally, I go down to the bottom in a summary, but not every day.almostashappy wrote:I'm guessing that it's taking every single ounce of Scorekeeper's willpower not to comment in this thread, so in the interest of his health I'll note that Eagan Freshman Jesse Gabrielle has 1 goal and 1 assist after two games.Teak wrote:Catching up with some late reporting Saturday games:

No. I don't have anything to add here. I think this is a really fun thread and Teak is doing a great job sharing this info.almostashappy wrote:I'm guessing that it's taking every single ounce of Scorekeeper's willpower not to comment in this thread
We know so many of these kids personally and their families. The wife and I have tipped many a wobbly pop with the parents of these players, most of whom we consider friends.
Many of these players are amongst the best friends of my kids and I have had the high honor of coaching some of them. I can imagine their broad smiles and wild exhuberance as they find the twine for their respective teams and I am so very proud of them all.
Obviously I don't need to check this thread to monitor the Eagan freshman, but I really do appreciate the updates from around the State. Thanks Teak.
