Nice start for last year's Ms. Hockey

Post by Sparlimb »

Hannah Brandt, as a true freshman, started her career with the defending national champion MN Gophers with a natural hat trick (1st 3 goals of the game) to lead MN past Colgate 7-0 last night. Guess maybe she'll fit in just fine. Congrats to Hannah who is truly a gifted player...

Perhaps even more amazing is that she was able to follow up her 'first college game hat trick' yesterday by scoring another 2 goals and 4 assists today. Netting 9 points in her first two D1 college games has to be some kind of record. There is NO DOUBT that her being named "Ms. Hockey" following last season was very much deserved.

Best of luck to her in leading the Gophers to continued success nationally and then also as a probable USA Olympian.

Something tells me she'll do OK. I imagine quite a few girls will be able to tell stories one day about the time in high school when they played against Olympian Hannah Brandt.

Truly a great start for a freshman, certainly a nice surprise for the Gophers!
