Eden Prairie Squirt A Shootout

Post by Better Dead Than Red »

Looking forward to some great games starting Thursday.

Squirt A Eden Prairie Shootout Pools

Black:
Eden Prairie
Centennial
Eastview
Rochester

Red:
Eagan
Andover
Edina
OMG

White:
Minnetonka
Rosemount
WBL
Elk River

3 pool winners and 1 wild card go to the playoffs.

I am hoping that any other team besides EP comes out of the Black pool – purely because I think it’s silly that the hosts gave themselves such a comparatively easy pool. Unfortunately, I think the other pools are so strong that there is a very good chance the wild card comes out of this pool as well. I’m hoping Rochester takes down EP but I think EP gets the wild card.

The red pool has 3 top teams, so it’s hard to pick between OMG, Edina and Andover. I’ll take OMG here.

The white pool is very strong as well. I think Rosemount is the best team right now and they are my favorite to win the pool and the tournament.

Semis - OMG beats EP and Rosemount beats Rochester
Finals – Rosemount over OMG

As of last night:

Black pool-

EP 2-0
Rochester 1-0
Eastview 0-1
Centennial 0-2

EP beat Eastview 5-2
Rochester over Centennial 6-3

Red Pool-

OMG 1-0
Andover 1-0
Edina 0-1
Eagan 0-1

OMG beats Edina 4-0

White pool-

Rosemount 1-0
WBL 0-0-1
Elk River 0-0-1
Minnetonka 0-1

Rosemount over Minnetonka 5-0
Elk River and WBL tie 4-4

That tie probably dooms them to not getting a chance at the wild card, so their playoff hopes lie in beating Rosemount.

I don't have a dog in this fight. Ive seen blaine and they are very good but not good enough. The rosemount kids have been training together at a very high level for the last 3 years summer and winter. Practice makes perfect.

There are a lot of good teams out there.

Andover is as good as both of these teams...they really impressed me this weekend. Super glad I got to see this team play.

9, 11,12 are all great players. I don't know their roster that well, but they lack that big '01 type kid - especially on defense.

They move the puck very well!!

andover is a top team. Theirs goalie had a out standing game against rosemount and ep.That being said rosemount is the no.1 team .They could have a bad day but would beat most teams 9 out 10 times. Wayzata at bantums is in the same boat, no.1 no one close.
