Luverne at Hutchinson, Friday 7:30 Burich Arena

Post by notTONIGHT »

Luverne heads up to Hutchinson for a big 3A Tilt on Friday. Hutchinson is undoubtedly a potential bracket buster, but at 5-16 have had a pretty miserable season playing a much tougher schedule that an 18 -3 -1 Luverne squad that is a section favorite heading into the playoffs. I think this is a good indicator for both squads where they are at heading into the post season.
Hutch is looking to send a statement to the section, and might very well do so if they can get some tendy play.
Luverne, with a very important blue liner ineligble for the game, is looking to find out where they stand with a traditional 3A power.

not, NOt a game even worth mentioning. Hutch's schedule strength doesn't mean a thing as it appears they were not competative with HF, LF or the majority of the other teams on the schedule.
Luverne on the other hand has soundly beaten nearly every team they have played along with a win over a strong Princeton team.
Luverne will take care of business in Hutch.

I would love to see Luverne's record playing Hutch's schedule!! Maybe 7 or 8 wins at the very best they would have. This section is pit a ful this year. The win vs. Princeton means very little. Sounds like both teams have some injuries. The game is 80% goaltending and 100% goaltending if the goaltending is bad! Hutch goaltending=Bad Luverne=average.. I calling an OT game this Friday in Hutch..

Putting that much emphasis on Goaltending normally means your D is weak and your Forwards are lazy on the backcheck. Sounds like there might be more issues than just tending.? Just sayin!

Because of the short distance to travel, I heard that New Ulm, Hutch and Litch are scheduling games in Luverne next season. :D

Luverne wouldn't be able to last the season if try had hutchinson's schedule. Luverne is missing an important d man but even if they had Toby he wouldn't make a difference. The hutch team is ready to come out strong and make a statement in the section. I predict that hutch will beat Luverne tonight.

Strength of schedule is pointless if all you do is lose.

This is not important. Discussion 15 year olds mistakes is not something that needs to happen. The only thing that matters is he will not be playing this evening.

are you kidding me? that is a ridiculous statement!!!!! What good does playing easy teams and winning by 10 every time do?? that does not make a team better. playing Hutch's schedule is a lot more beneficial for the team than playing luvernes schedule. wouldn't you rather play a really good team and maybe lose by 1 or 2 than play fairmont and win by 15? you don't learn nearly as much winning by ten as you do if you lose by 1 or 2.

If i had the choice of a difficult schedule, or an easy schedule, its the difficult one every time. However, if all you do is lose these difficult games on your schedule, it cannot be used as fodder in an argument to prove your team is better.

LDC brought in a 2-12 ish record last year to Luverne with the same argument that their incredibly superior strength of schedule was the reason... I believe it was proved that they just weren't that good... On Hutch's turf tonight should be a good indicator. Luverne 5, Hutch 2.

As long as it a huge secret, how long is he out for? That would be important.

Nice to see Luverne taking care of business in Hutch. This team certainly has learned how to win regardless of the schedule they played. It is sometimes easy to play down to your opponents level and not be able to finish them off when you have not had a winning history with your program.
Kudos to the boys from Luverne on a great season so far. Good luck and keep working hard. The reward will be a trip to the X.
