Future Class A Champions Red Wing will have no problem getting through Sections. New Prague beat them once by a goal, but also lost in a lopsided route.

They have pretty much run the table on Class A teams faced. Only Warroad should be able to stop them and it should be the title game if the brackets are set up correctly.

Injury is the only thing barring them from this destiny. Some of the best shooters in MN girls hockey reside in Red Wing this winter.

Marty, there are a lot of haters on this forum. You are setting yourself up for a beat down. Redwing'a top 4-6 players are as good if not better than any in single A. Good luck at State.

Never really hated Red Wing but hard to like the big fish in a small pond when they chirp that loud. States top scores kind of do a disappearing act when they run up against good teams. If they get past NP they will walk through round 1 then not so much.

Well, they already lost to Blake once - being outshot by 12, so it really wasn't a fluke. Besides Warroad, I think Blake or SSP could certainly give them trouble (if their goaltending holds up).

Nah I have no real interest in Red Wing other than spark some conversation.

Blake is a worthy competitor although Warroad ate Bear for lunch.

The Packers run very inconsistant. Orono game tonight maybe a good indication where their game is headed as they approach this weekend.

When Cameranesi was in Finland...admittedly defense/goaltending didn't hold up too well that game but I think it will be quite different if they play again. I guess we shall see.

Getting back to the topic though, I don't think the Wingers will have too much trouble qualifying for State again in 1A.

1 & 2 play for Section Title.

Sad that a 4th seed actually loses to Redwing by such a lopsided margin.

Wingers were not surprized in Sections. They were prepared.

Off the original thread, but Warroad didn't eat "Bear for lunch" again - did they, Marty? Quite the contrary today....

Congrats to all state tournament teams on a great season.

Not the only one. From the pick 'em thread:

Congratulations to the entire Blake team and their coaching staff! They certainly made believers out of the 18 of us here who thought the No. 1 ranked Warroad Warriors would win it all this year. Only one of twenty-one picked Blake to be crowned State Champ, and that was LuckyEPDad - nice call!
I was not one of the 18 that participated ... so make that number at least 1 out of 19
