Congrats to AV for posting the first upset in AA. I had a chance to see Cretin play a few weeks back vs WBL and it was a great game to watch. Whalin was fantastic and Cretin looked very solid. What surprised me was how young both teams were.
Sounds like sicksauce23 had a bad experience with Cretin and since has decided to air his "sour grapes" which is ok (Trust me it is not the goaltending). From a distance and although their season ended abruptly, it looks like the Cretin team/coaching had a very good season compared to last year. I believe they had a state tourney appearance in the not-to- distant past and with 6 or 7 sophomores playing varsity this year would make me think their program is on the upswing.
Both the WBL and Cretin programs seem to have a positive 2 years in front of them and should be fun to watch.

I stand corrected on last years seedings. No sour grapes on goal-tending comment. I believe CDH rostered 4 goalies on varsity this year and rotated 4 thru Schawan's Cup. I have not heard many teams every rotate 4 before. Once they settled in they had a great finish. The game against Edina and their conference championship proves they should have played in section championship.

Like Hill in 4AA they really don't have to go through any top teams to get to state.

Actually quite a bit of parity in the section breadowns. Obviously 6AA is the toughest, and 1AA & 8AA are the weakest, but the rest are pretty close in the distribution of top teams.

3AA has 3 teams in the Top 20 ... better than 1AA & 8AA, same as 4AA, 5AA and 7AA and close to 2AA, which has 4. The toughest is 6AA, with 5 Top 20 teams

The most under-rated conference in the entire State. The South Suburban was second in toughness only to the Lake Conference.

The SSC boasted 5 of the top 20 teams in the State and 7 of the top 35 amongst it's 9 team membership.

As each section completes it's quarterfinals and we reach the final 32 teams remaining in the State, it's no surprise to me that 8 of the 9 SSC teams are still standing. Also that the only SSC loss so far was in a battle of 2 SSC teams.

10 teams in SSC...I think you forgot about Kennedy (no worries, just about everyone else does too). Last statement is still relevant, though, since Kennedy lost to B'ville in 2AA quarters.

Right. 8 of the 10 are still standing in final 32, and only 2 SSC teams to lose, lost to other SSC teams (Eastview over Rosemount), & (Burnsville over Kennedy)
