I feel very sorry for the coach. By the time players are seniors he has spent about 5 years helping to develop these kids. It is not very often that a group comes along that can make a run at getting to state. There was chance for this group to hang with Breck. It maybe another 10 to 20 years before a similar opportunity comes along. For the coach and 14 seniors that have worked hard the penalty for doing the jitterbug was pretty harsh. The punishment has put the hockey program and school moral at an all-time low.
Note: I had 3 kids that graduated from MWHS. All 3 have told me that there is a tradition for the last day of school. Speakers are set up in the hall and seniors dance on the lockers. As far as I know no police have been called, no fines have been given and no one has been suspended for this activity. So maybe it was something else besides doing the peppermint twist? If so, the administration needs to let people know the specifics…

Saw this tonight, just a horrible thing to happen to these kids and its hard to believe that it all could have been avoided if the school hadn't been in such a rush to pass down punishment. At least the school is able to own up to the mistake they made.
