Pregame?

First year being 21 at the tourney. Where's the best place to hit up for a couple of adult beverages before the game? Can't wait to try my first beer.

East Street Grille, The Liffey, Tom Reids Hockey city pub. All are pretty good puds to grab a few before games. People need to live a little...

How about, it is a high school event. Stay sober or drink at home. But if you must, there is the Liffy, Tom Reids just to name a couple....

There are many places to enjoy a cocktail and meal in downtown St. Paul. Expect nearly all places near Xcel (within 4-5 blocks) to be bustling and active on AA Quarterfinal Thursday and Semifinal Friday. Get there early - at least 2-2 1/2 hours before you make the happy trek to the arena.

Though there are many here are 6 (not including those in Xcel): McGovern's, Cossetta's, Eagle Street and Woodfire all across the street from Xcel or just a block or 3 west down West 7th Street. East of Xcel you'll find Great Waters Brewing Co. a few blocks over on St. Peter, and Alary's on East 7th St. Alary's offers 4 shuttles to Xcel on Wild game days - don't know if they offer the same service for state tourney because I am usually at McGovern's.

Bottoms up, dude!

Yes Alary's shuttle runs Thursday thru Saturday. I don't think they run for the Wednesday games, but maybe that has changed.
