Well they do have Nick Austin and Peter Heimbold (both D) so it is hard to compare the ability when they all play different positions, but yes Baer leaving really ruins the Red Knights for the future, but BSM has around 5 or 6 freshmen that play on the top two lines this year. There are a few kids that play Wayzata bantam AA and A that go to BSM. A few from other big schools, which should help for the future. Wayzata does have very strong tendys, when BSM does not. I just flat out hate it when kids leave for all purposes. Even kids leave BSM to go to Juniors or other schools for hockey...
Nick and Peter are both good players for sure. Not sure if they are at the same level right now as Baer, Zimmer and Senden. I like Peter's potential. Probably unfair to Nick, but I always compare him to his big brother and those are big shoes to fill. He's a good skater though and if he ends up like his brother they have a good one there, but not at the same level as Wayzata at this point. Another BSM freshman I do like is Calenger.MHL All-Star wrote:Well they do have Nick Austin and Peter Heimbold (both D) so it is hard to compare the ability when they all play different positions, but yes Baer leaving really ruins the Red Knights for the future, but BSM has around 5 or 6 freshmen that play on the top two lines this year. You mention some Wayzata Bantam AA's attend BSM. Which ones?

I wouldn't be surprised if Pauley's phone is ringing off the hook after the section re-alignment.MHL All-Star wrote:Holmers, Hewitt, and I know 1 other will be coming to BSM next year. Can't think of his name though. You and me both know that Pauly will get some new freshmen and sophomores for next year if you know what I'm sayin'
I wish I could get the inside scoop on the realignment, as I believe the housing market will get a boost once that is released.

sorry this was directed towards the JV team that they have 5 or 6 freshmen just on JV. Do you want to know who they are? Most of them aren't the best freshmen in their grade though, so it should be interesting to see who steps up and who doesn't.

Out of curiosity, which rankings would those be? I see your rankings and LPH have Eagan #4, while Lee (PageStat) and Mnhockeyrankings.com both have Eagan at #3.karl(east) wrote:If they really want to avoid that Edina-Wayzata match-up. After all, human rankings other than mine have been a bit more skeptical of Eagan, and the coaches may decide to drop the Wildcats a spot if they want to. I don't think that would be very fair to Eagan, but if they wanted a new match-up, that would probably be the way they'd do it.

I was referring to the length of time that it took LPH to get Eagan up into the top 5. I think it only happened in the last week of the season. They'd kept them behind the Lake teams for most of the second half of the year, while I had the Cats somewhere in the middle of those teams.scorekeeper wrote:Out of curiosity, which rankings would those be? I would think, after watching Edina struggle to get by Prior Lake (earlier this season), Jefferson and Burnsville (twice) - by a single goal in each game, that should firm up the Wildcats as #3 or #4 well ahead of the Hornets, since they handled all 3 of those teams fairly easily, building a 6-0 resume' and winning by margins of 4-2, 7-3, 3-2, 6-3, 5-4 & 6-3.karl(east) wrote: I was referring to the length of time that it took LPH to get Eagan up into the top 5. Interesting to note that both Edina and Eagan had similar losses, losing tight games to Hill Murray (Eagan loss in OT) & Minnetonka (Edina twice lost to the Skippers)

Blaine's loss doesn't affect the seedings at this point, but it could come into play if there are more upsets. If Rapids beats East, they'd be the #5. If Hill or Eagan go down, it might be a bit harder to find the next in line.

Ah yes similar losses to a few opponents but you see edina never loss to a team like eastview. so complain as much as you want about edina just squeaking by teams because in the end it does not matter how much you win by but instead that you got the win.scorekeeper wrote:Interesting to note also that both Edina and Eagan had similar losses, losing tight games to Hill Murray (Eagan loss in OT) & Minnetonka (Edina twice lost to the Skippers)karl(east) wrote:I would agree.scorekeeper wrote: I would think, after watching Edina struggle to get by Prior Lake (earlier this season), Jefferson and Burnsville - by a single goal each, that should firm up the Wildcats as #3 or #4 well ahead of the Hornets, since they handled all 3 of those teams fairly easily, building a 6-0 resume' and winning by margins of 4-2, 7-3, 3-2, 6-3, 5-4 & 6-3.

P.S Edina lost to Hill in overtime too

Oh I'm not complaining at all. I think the ranking is just fine how it is.green4 wrote: complain as much as you want about edina just squeaking by teams because in the end it does not matter how much you win by but instead that you got the win.

I do agree with you that wins are wins and losses are losses and Edina has twice as many losses as Eagan, so I guess that also plays into the rankings.

Well, you knew we were going to spoil that party. Now where are we? Surely Wayzata deserves a higher seed than #5 after impressive back-to-back wins over Minnetonka and Benildekarl(east) wrote: And yes, one upset (or a BSM win over Wayzata...much as you may not want to see it) will take care of all of this.

Agreed that it should count for something, while they did beat East in their meeting, they are 0-3 against Edina this season. But they are 1-0 against Hill-Murray.D3Referee wrote:Well, you knew we were going to spoil that party. Now where are we? I think a case could be made for the top 5 in many orders.
I think a case could be made for Eagan to be lower (or higher) for that matter. While they lost in OT to Hill, the only other teams at state they have played this year will be the 1AA representative...this assumes they make it to state.

All due respect, but I hope that dog doesn't hunt. If it was settled on your record vs teams at State (assuming the remaining favorites make it in), the seeds would be like this;HShockeywatcher wrote: I think a case could be made for Eagan to be lower (or higher) for that matter. 1.) Hill Murray 4-1 (loss was 3-1 to Wayzata)
2.) Edina 4-2 (lost to East 4-1, HM in OT)
3.) Eagan 2-1 (loss was to HM in OT)
4.) Centennial 2-1 (loss was 4-0 to Edina)
5.) Duluth East 3-2 (lost 1-0 to Wayzata, 5-2 to Centennial)
6.) Wayzata 3-3 (all 3 losses to Edina)
7.) Moorhead 0-4 (lost to East, HM, Cent, Wayzata)
8.) Lakeville North 0-4 (lost to East, HM & Eagan twice)
I guess we just pray for an Eagan or East loss tomorrow (or Hill Murray on Friday) and all of this will truly take care of itself.

Edina at #2 and Centennial at #4? Bad/poor calls, Ref! No wonder you are D3 as opposed to D1.D3Referee wrote:All due respect, but I hope that dog doesn't hunt. Take another sip of coffee, koolio....he was using that ranking to illustrate why he thought HS's call to bump Eagan down a notch or two (knock on wood) was off.koolio wrote:Edina at #2 and Centennial at #4? I think you can justify how the seeds should go in a lot of ways. But in the end (if the high seeds hold serve in their section finals), I don't think Randolph, Lechner & the other coaches really care if Edina & Wayzata are playing for a 4th time & are concerned about a fresh match-up. They'll go based on the body of work.
1: Hill-Murray
2: Duluth East
3: Eagan
4: Edina
5: Wayzata
