first off your rankings are from one site "My Hockey Rankings":, if you look at "Youth Hockey Hub" which everyone on this forum seems to follow the rankings are higher and if you look at another they will be different again.... Still not the same as the teams ranked in the East and the West...

Why does everyone keep bashing the South region? its not like the North Region is any tougher... I don't care what teams are ranked, aside from the few top teams there are a lot of teams that could surprise a few.. to quote Chris Berman "that's why they play the games"

And guess what, every year there will be good teams that go home and teams that move on that shouldn't... That's life, deal with it..

Again , "lets stop the whining and play some hockey"

Good Luck to all the teams playing this weekend and good job earning your spot no matter what people say. You did what you had to do to get there and enjoy the weekend..

Wow more whining and crying....

Seems parents are all up in arms that THEIR region is so much harder and thats just not fair!

If I recall last year the EASY region had 5,15 & 16........ And the state runner up was........yep the #2 seed from that region EGF.

It has been talked about letting the district champions select where they want to go but seems kind of hard when there are 12 districts and 4 regions. Who gets first pick and how is the order decided upon....rankings.....which one....what are the criteria.......buttend(I bet you have that name for a reason) what would you do since it's so unfair?

North

Rapids
Hermantown

East

Edina
Prior Lake

West

UPSET SPECIAL REGION... 2 District 10 teams come out of here. If the refs aren't home cookin' D10 plays a little more of physical game. Maybe the Elks and Cougars. I just look to see a let down from Wayzata.

South

Blaine
Tonka

The regional tourneys always seem to surprise. I also like Mounds View as a sleeper in the east to upset a team or two.[/b]

North

Grand Rapids
Duluth East

Rapids is the cream of this region. East is a sleeper pick

West

Elk River
Wayzata

Wayzata this one is easy. Elk River will come back to beat Centennial

South

STMA
Minnetonka

STMA beats South and Tonka to make it in. Tonka comes thru back door over Blaine.

East

Prior Lake
Edina

Edina wins it. Getting revenge over PL. PL comes back to beat Stillwater in hard fought game.

I did say it was unfair? I said it was a "joke" and I stand by that! When you have teams that cannot make it out of their own District playoffs but are rewarded with Region seeds in a bracket that almost assures 1 or 2 of those teams a trip to State something in not right!

Lakeville South the #4 District 8 seed won its quarter final game today. Minnetonka the #4 D6 Seed has a close 8-0 win

The #1, #2, #3 D8 seeds all lost today. The #4 D8 team that could not qualify for its own Region has an easier path to State that the legit qualifiers!

"What would you do since its so unfair" Here is what I would not do! I would not stack 3 of 5 metro District teams in 1 Region! Year in and Year out the metro team have the lions share of the top 20 teams. This year is no different with 16 out of 20 ( 80%) Every Region should have 1 Metro District in it! Seeds 1-3,

4 of the 6 lower district seeds that went to the south in bantam and pee wee AA won...

WBL and LVS in bantam and Stillwater and Jefferson in Pee Wee

Good break to say the least. Of all those games it looks like only the Stillwater game was a true upset.

Well I have news for you, starting next year when your team goes to sections, it's not going to be fair for you either........are you going to whine then too. Do you think Wayzata,Tonka & BSM think section 1 is deserving of being there before them?

Does NCAA final 4 have the best 65?

Does Frozen 4? Of all the tourneys it comes closest with its pairwise but nothing is guaranteed.

This regional alignments are figured out in advance on a rotation and this year that's the way it fell.

I asked before how do you assign the teams for your scenario?

Northern teams and southern teams would love to hear how you want them to try to get into the MN Metro State Tournament you speak of.

If MSHL did to their tournament what MN hockey does, teams like EP, Minnetonka, Jefferson after losing their section games should be sent to 1AA for another chance against weaker teams!

So are you angry that your team didn't get a shot at the South region, mad at who got in that region or mad at how they got into that region?

Funny thing is about trying to tank to get in there........karma has a way of rearing its head......just ask Jefferson. Saw they pulled the "good" goalie after a really weak goal in one game and then got bounced in the next game.

Watched part of the BAA game LVS vs Blaine and wow was that a cheap game, lots of penalties and the hit on LVS best player was more like a football chop block.......Blaine should be proud of their squad
