2013 Public school tournament

Post by noflybys »

Could this be the year for an All AA public school tournament... When was the last time that happened?

2011: Edina, Blaine, Duluth East, White Bear Lake, Eden Prairie, Lakeville North, Eagan, Moorhead.

For Class A, it's been a while: 1998.

Welp, this wasn't nearly as historic or rare as the thread's title would have indicated.

No this won't be an all public school tournament. Pioneers will take care of business tonight.

Not likely

In order for that to happen hill Murray would have to lose. That is unlikely enough but saint Thomas would have to lose to Totino grace. Wait Totino grace is private as well. Well there goes your public school tournament bid. Try again next year.

And also Breck and Lourdes both punched their tickets as well as Duluth Marshall. Is Apollo private?

No - Cathedral is the private school in St. Cloud.

Makes ya wonder why people peoplecomplain about private schools so much. In reading threads on here make it sound like annually half the AA field is occupied by private schools each year. Reality is it's usually 0-2 teams each year. Relax public school people.

. It's because private schools can recruit and public schools can't

I'm pretty sure St. Cloud Apollo is a private operated by a sect that worships the Gods on Mt. Olympus. They rarely make the tournament due to their Achilles Heel.

In the last 12 years only two public schools have won the Class A tournament.. Hermantown and Warroad twice..
