Hockey/Soccer Correlation?

Post by shooter803 »

Was just going thru Duluth Marshall's state tourney roster & noticed they have 10 players that were also part of their State soccer team that took 3rd place this season. I have heard the benefits of hockey/soccer (as well as playing other sports) but thought this is quite a big number in a specific sport. They also have 3-4 players that were on their respective jv squads but not both. Its great to see multi sport athletes playing at a high level, and its not just about specializing in hockey. Best of luck to all teams at the X.

At a school as small as Marshall, they are just the best athletes.

I coach soccer at Duluth Marshall and 80 percent of my boys are on the varsity hockey team and they are the best athletes at the school no doubt but as a soccer player there are similarities between soccer and hockey.

Soccer, lacrosse, football, baseball, all have skills that are transferable to hockey. You are right it is great to see these multi sport athletes. IMO, there are far to many kids playing nothing but one sport these days.

You would think with all of those soccer players they would have more 0-0 games.
Be better at drawing penalties while clutching their ankle.
Have a coach with really cool long hair.
.333 is a pretty good batting average. How many baseball players?
